Dear Sir,

SCHOOL BASED EXPERIENCE (SBE) PROGRAM

I am second semester visual art education student from Institute of Teacher Educational Malaysia,
Gaya Campus. I assigned to your school SJK (C) Methodist for the School Based Experience
(SBE) program to collect information and prepare the tasks pertaining to the school environment
and teaching-learning activities.

2. There are some tasks which I am supposed to carry on during SBE program. First of all, I
have to gather the information about school management, teaching and learning climate and
school culture of SJK (c) Methodist during this SBE program. I knew that the grade of SJK (c)
Methodist is “A” and this is a good opportunity for me to carry on my second SBE program in your
school. Besides, as a prospective teacher, I have to gain the experience of teaching and learning
strategies by observing the ways of teachers teach students in grade A school. Moreover, this is
the time for me to develop the skills to interact with students, teachers and school staff during
SBE program. This is because I have to work effectively with administrators, other teachers, and
parents for the good of my students in future.

3. Besides, I hope that I can gain a lots of benefits such as the ways of teachers control the
students in their lessons, ways of teachers impart knowledge to students and ways teachers
attract attention from students. This program aims for the development of a reflective and reflexive
learner who learns through situational inquiring, theorizing, hypothesis, testing, experimenting,
analysis, and justifying. However, as a prospective teacher, I have to collect these valuable
experience from SBE program and apply these valuable teaching skills in future.

4. The SBE program put high priority in faith, knowledge, culture, civilization, humanity, social
and nationality. It will ensure success not just for the present but also future to come, in every
activity run in the program. So, I hope that Sir will allow me walk around the school compound,
carrying on my observations and interviews during the SBE week. Lastly, I hope that the school
authorities will cooperate with me, so that I can complete my tasks successfully.
