Key Result Area Example
This example provides you with a slice of a real organizational example. Notice that AMC have set the scene by highlighting their critical success
factors (CSF's) which will have come from their vision and mission. KRA's and goals then naturally align to meeting these. Each goal then has a
number of objectives and so on. Work through the example and get a feel for the process. Note that only part of the AMC plan is included and
that the objectives in some cases would be difficult to measure without associated performance indicators and/or targets.

meet the needs of the maritime sector.
For AMC to be a successful institution in the longer term it is important that all the goals and the associated targets linked to the Key
Result Areas are achieved within the five-year timeframe of this corporate plan. In particular, delivering appropriate courses in a flexible
manner for the convenience of the student, achieving world-wide recognition as a pre-eminent maritime university, expanding quality
research activity and strengthening links with the local community are all important success factors. Active support of the strategic
direction of AMC by all stakeholders is also critical if AMC is to continue to be successful. Finally, the commitment of management and
staff to progress the strategic direction embodied in the Corporate Plan is fundamental to ensuring a strong future for AMC.
Key Result Areas & Goals Objectives
Consistent with the Vision and Mission of the Australian Maritime College (AMC), Associated with each Key Result Area are
the Key Result Areas (KRAs) and the associated Corporate Goals for the institution Objectives for achieving the goals. These
