Assignment

A leak was discovered in a turpentine storage tank during an inspection. The leak was 0.1 inches in diameter and located 7 feet above the tank bottom. Records show the turpentine level was 17.3 feet before the leak and 13 feet after it was repaired. The tank is 15 feet in diameter. Students are asked to determine the total amount of turpentine spilled, the maximum spill rate in pounds per second, and the total time it would take for the tank to empty.
