Programming Quick Start…

Kenwood TH-G71A

Step 1 Press the Band Key


Step 2 Press the VFO Key
Step 3 Select your frequency by turning the main tuning
knob, or entering directly from the keypad.
Step 4 Select your Shift (- or +) by pressing the F Key
then the Shift key multiple times until desired
shift is shown in the display.
Step 5 Selecting Tone/PL/Encode by pressing the F key
then the Tone/Low key until a T appears.
Step 6 Press the F key then the Tone/Sel (9) key, and
by using the main tuning knob, select your tone
Step 7 Memory entry — press F key and you will see a
memory number flash in the display. Select the
memory by using main tuning knob to select
desired memory number. Then press M.IN/MR
to store that frequency into memory.
Step 8 Recalling memory — press the MR key and the
memory number will re-appear. To change
memory, turn the main tuning dial to desired
memory channel.

Programming Quick Start…

Kenwood TH-F6A
Step 1 Press the A/B button and select Band A
Step 2 Press the VFO key
Step 3 Press the ENT key
Step 4 Select your desired frequency from the keypad
Step 5 Select your offset by pressing F key, and then press
the REV/SHIFT/8 key. Every time you press the
F key and REV it will change from + to - to Simplex
Step 6 Select your TONE/ENCODE/PL by pressing the
TONE/TSEL/7 key. A T will appear in the display.
Step 7 Select your PL/TONE by pressing the F key, and then
press T.SEL/TONE/7. The display will show TONE
FREQ with a tone flashing. Turn the main tuning knob
to the desired PL/TONE, and store this tone by
toggling the joystick to the right, where it says OK.

Step 8 To store all the information above into a memory


location, press the F key. The memory number in the
right side of the display will start flashing. Turn the
main tuning knob to the desired memory.

You may now store the information into that memory


by pressing the MR/M.IN/C key. To recall the
memory just press the MR key again.

Programming Quick Start…

Kenwood TM-271A
1. Push VFO button and enter frequency.

2. For PL/Encode to function you must have a T showing in the display.


Press the F button and then the TONE/CALL button until a T
appears

3. To select a tone, press the F button and press the MENU/MAIN


TUNING KNOB until the Menu display appears, and turn the tuning
knob to MENU 2.

The 2 will be flashing. Press the MENU/MAIN TUNING KNOB


until the tone frequency starts to flash. Turn the main tuning knob
to desired TONE.

To store it, press the MENU/MAIN TUNING KNOB until it stops


flashing. You may now exit the Menu feature by pressing the F
button.

4. To store all this info into a memory location, push the F (function)
button, and the flashing number will appear on the right side of the
display. Turn the main tuning knob to the desired memory of your
choice. Immediately push MR button to store all the information
into memory.

5. To recall memory push MR button, and you will see all the
information you have just stored.

Quick Start Programming…

Kenwood TM-G707A

1. Push the VFO button

2. Enter your desired frequency

3. Push the TONE button until the T shows

4. Push F button then SHIFT to select + or - offset

5. To select the tone, push the F button, then push the


T. SEL button. The PL/Encode frequency will appear
flashing in the display. Turn the main tuning knob to
select the desired PL/Encode tone.

6. To store the PL, press the OK button (the far right


button on the bottom)

7. To store all this information into Memory, push the


F button, and, when the memory numbers appear to
the right of the frequency display, turn the main
tuning knob to the desired Memory of your choice.
Press the MR button to store the information.

8. To recall that memory just push MR again.

Quick Start Programming…

Kenwood TH-D7A

Step 1. Press the A/B key to choose the band


Step 2. Press the VFO key
Step 3. Select your frequency using the main tuning
knob, or direct input from the keypad
Step 4. To select a TONE, press the F Key and there
will be a flashing number. Select F-1, press OK
on the joy stick, and the OFF will flash. Turn
the main tuning knob to ON, and then press OK
again. The T will show in your display.
Step 5. Press the F Key again. Go to F-2, press OK, and
the PL number will flash. Turn the main tuning
knob to the desired PL/Encode, and press OK.
Step 6. To enter all the above into a memory location,
press the F Key then MR Key. The memory
number will flash. Turn the main tuning knob to
desired memory location, and then press MR Key
to store your selection.

To recall memory, just press the MR Key again.

Quick Start Programming…

Kenwood TH-K2AT
1. Push VFO button to make sure you’re in VFO mode.

2. Press the [ENT/#] key, and enter desired FREQUENCY using the
numeric keys (for example, 146.820).

3. Choose an OFFSET. The TH-K2AT has an Automatic Repeater


Offset feature. (See the manual on how to manually override this
feature, if you need to.)

4. To set PL/TONE/ENCODE for repeaters, press the MENU key and


turn the main tuning knob to select MENU #2. Then press the
MENU key again, and the display will start to flash. Turn the main
tuning knob to TONE, and press MENU key to store it.

5. To select a PL/ENCODE/TONE, press the MENU key and turn the


main tuning knob to MENU #3. It will be flashing. Press the MENU
key again. You may now select your tone by turning the main tuning
knob to the desired tone. To store it, press the MENU key again.
Press PTT to go back to the normal frequency display.

6. Now store all the above info into a memory location! Press the [F]
key followed by pressing the [MR] key. The memory number will
flash on the right side of the display. Turn the main tuning knob to
the desired memory channel. Store it by pressing the MR key again.

7. You’re still in VFO mode…Press the MR key to go to your memories.

Quick Start Programming…

Yaesu FT-60R
1. Turn radio ON.
2. Press [V/M] key to go to VFO mode.
3. Use numeric keypad to enter desired frequency.
4. Press [F] key then [SQUELCH TYPE/1] key.
5. Use tuning knob to select squelch type.
6. Press [F] key to set squelch type.
7. Press [F] key then [CODE/2] key.
8. Use tuning knob to select CTCSS tone or DCS.
9. Press [F] key to set tone.
10. Press [F] key for over one second - the next available memory location will start
blinking in the display.
11. Touch [F] key to enter what you have just programmed into that memory location.

Painless...especially when you have Auto Repeater Shift set!

Want to add an alphanumeric label to that memory entry?

a. In Memory mode (not VFO mode), select desired channel w/channel knob.
b. Press [F] key then [SET/0] key to enter Set Menu.
c. Use tuning dial to go to Item 27 - NAME.
d. Press [F] key and use tuning dial to choose ALPHA.
e. Press [F] key to set what you just chose.
f. Press [F] key then [SET/0] key to enter Set Menu.
g. Use tuning dial to go to Item 28 - NAME WRITE.
h. Press [F] key once...then one more time to make first digit blink.
i. Use tuning knob to select desired alphanumeric character.
j. Press [F] key to set - and move to next character.
k. Repeat i-j above for up to six characters.
l. When pressing [F] key after entering sixth character, a long beep will be heard.
m. Touch PTT key to exit Set Mode and go back to Memory Mode.

Quick Start Programming…

Kenwood TM-D700A

1. Press the left volume control for VHF - Press the VFO button and
enter the frequency (e.g., 146.670 mHz).

2. To select the offset press the F button and then press the SHIFT
Button. It will change from + to - to simplex.

3. To select a PL/Tone/Encode, press the TONE button until a “T”


shows in the top of the display. Press the F button and then the
T.SEL button. The PL/Tone will be flashing in the display. Turn the
main tuning knob to your desired PL/Tone. To store that PL/Tone,
press the OK button on the far right side.

4. To store all this information in memory, press the F button. On the


right side of the display you will see a memory number FLASHING.
Turn the main tuning knob and select your desired memory location.
Store the frequency and all info by pressing the M.IN button.
