AMANDA TETZLAFF
TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
Motivated by the belief that all students can develop metacognitive techniques, knowledge of how to live
well within their communities, and a keen interest in content through deep discussion, collaboration with
peers, and inquiry based projects. Approaches to teaching and learning can be balanced to support
critical and creative thinking in and outside of the classroom.

• Taught various subjects, including ELA 7, Social 7, Religion 7, Social 8, and ELA 9

• Mentored group of 20 first year university students, integrating and engaging them in the University
community.
• Facilitated a group of 15 second year university students in the creation of a Volunteer Directory
that was accessible to all 170 students in SLP that connected students to volunteer opportunities on
and off campus.
