w/2
How to do the second integration ( ∫σ
−w / 2
xx ytdy ) and what does it mean,
The second integral (INT2) is the moment applied through the symmetric B.C. and it
should be equal to the applied external moment for the static equilibrium,
As you see in the above figure there are two different options to choose the variable
for the y-coordinate system in INT2 which are S and YG. S or YG?
You will see figures like the below graphs if you started your path definition from
bottom node.
Then it does not matter which one you choose but you should be careful!
Example:
The maximum value is close enough to 375 N.m.
There are two options to relate pin/roller and the main body,
• Using GLUE/TIE,
• Using CONTACT
Note 3: First glue parts together and then mesh them. Mesh each part eperately to be
able to select different material models.
Note 4: When you have two different material models you can assign them to the
appropriate part using MESH TOOL as below,
Preprocessor Meshing MeshTool
a) You can fixe ALL DOF of interior surface/line of two holes without using
pins,
b) Or you can put pins first pins and glue them to main body and fix them in X-
direction or ALL DOF.
In the first method (a) there is no need to use pins. It is your task to select which
model is more appropriate to use as a numerical simulation.
CONTACT:
If any body need to know about contacts let me know. I can send some key points
about it but I do not make guaranty that it works for all cases.
Note 5:
• The value of work done by the nodal force isn case (i) is equal to
1 / 2 × F × ∆x .
P
• The value of pressure in case (ii) is equal to .
t × 2r
