Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests, good afternoon, and welcome to the first

day of our Academic Conference with the theme “Beyond Borders: the challenge for
tomorrow’s CPA”. I’m John Hilbert Cagaanan,

And I’m Mia Renee Sumalinog,

and we’ll be your emcees for this event.

To formally commence this program, we are asking everybody to please rise for the
invocation, and remain so for the singing of the national anthem which will shortly
follow.

Please be seated. To reiterate, This event is the first Academic conference hosted by
the MSU IIT JPIA organization in collaboration with the Department of Accountancy.

so To give us the welcome address, we are pleased to welcome to the stage, Mister
Charles Flores, President of the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants
MSU-Iligan Institue of Technology. A big hand for him please.

Thanks you, Charles. So this two-day academic conference is loaded with


information regarding new topics and supplementary subjects that will cover for the
CPA Board Licensure Examination in 2017. Now, that’s a lot of information to take
in.

John: “A lot” is probably an understatement. Nevertheless, I’m certain that everyone


here is eager to listen to the discussions, however, prior to that, let's get our brains
warmed up. So, Flashed on the screen, will be some of the most fundamental
accounting-related questions, and if you want to answer any of these questions, just
raise your hand and give your best shot. If you get it right, well, who knows?
Probably your professors will give you bonus points in your exams. All right? Let’s
begin..
Okay, so I suppose that ends the brain warm-ups, well they were genuinely warm ups
guys considering the intensive discussions that will follow, but do not worry because
there will be an open forum later after all the sessions are done.

M and J: So our first speaker this afternoon

Thank you ___________, that was truly enlightening...at this point, i supposed
everybody's brains are a bit racked up already.

So before we move on to the next discussions, we'll amuse ourselves with an ice
breaker.
There will be questions shown on the screen, this time they have nothing to do with
accounting stuff. These are riddles and puzzles, actually. If you think you’ve guessed
the answer, just raise your hand and say it, I mean the answer, alright? Okay let’s start

M and J: Okay, so so much for that, our next speaker

Thank u ________. Well, it was indeed an enlightening discussion, laden with all the
needed information for our future cpa board exam takers. So guys, after the long
series of lectures, there must be some questions or points that u need to clarify. Now
is the time to raise them.
If you wish to raise some concerns,or clarify some points in the discussions, please go
that area there, take the mic and ask your question.

Thank u maam/sir for patiently answering the queries and addressing the concerns of
the students. So guys It was an honor for us to listen to a lecture from speakers no less
than ______________right __________?

Exactly, so as a profound way to express our gratitude, we would like to call to the
stage Professor Michael Bation, JPIA MSU-IIT adviser, and Mister Charles Flores,
JPIA MSU-IIT president to hand to the speakers their tokens.

And that concludes the 1st day of the academic conference. I genuinely hope that we,
BSA students, have learned a lot today. Let’s give another round of applause for
___________ and _________ as well.

So thank u all for coming, and don’t be late tomorrow for the second round of lectures
on taxation ad rfbt topics.

We’ll see you at the same place, here MSU-IIT mini theater, and we’ll start at 8 am,
