SWC Lesson Reflection (Completed After EVERY Lesson Taught) : Select (S)

The teacher taught a kindergarten lesson on rockets and the letter R. During circle time, the students engaged with questions about a video of a rocket flying. They then chose activities like making their own rockets in art or finding objects starting with R. The teacher aimed to teach the letter sound and name through interactive activities aligned with different learning levels. Student feedback showed they enjoyed hands-on activities and completing tasks. The lesson achieved its goals of recognizing rockets, astronauts, and the letter R through circle time and activities. The teacher plans to add an auditory activity and get student input on activities.

SWC Lesson Reflection (Completed after EVERY lesson

taught)

Select (S):

Science & English (Story: Rocket, & letter "R")

Describe (D):
I taught kindergarten 2 in the class. I try to achieve my goal which is to recognize the rocket, the astronaut
and the name and the sound of the letter "R". In the circle time, the students were responding to my
questions and there were engaging because I play a video how the rocket fly. After that I explain the
activities, I gave the freedom to my students to choose any activity to do it and I do this stagy as Froebel
theory.

Analyze (A):
My students were interaction in the circle time because I use the computer to show them how the rocket
fly. They replied to my questions, most of them were with me, and some of them I had to repeat the
instructions and the rules to keep controlling them in the class. In the activities area, the students were
engaged especially the activity that was in the art corner which is making their own rocket and to color
their astronaut. In addition, in the reading corner which is searching the letter because this activity was one
of the activities that was not my teacher use it in the class, so they like to try doing new activities.
As Bloom's Taxonomy, in the art corner, I want to my students to be in the higher level which is to be
create, and to be creative you should produce your own work/production. I showed my students my art
work and I let them to make it by their own production (make a rocket).
The students recognize that in English lesson they will learn new letter and sound, in the lesson some of
them they told me names that starts with this letter "R", and that made me to recognize that they had a
prior understanding to my lesson.
I engage my students in explaining the activities, I let some students to complete my activity in the circle
time to know if they understand my instruction to how to do these activities.

Appraise (A):
My students’ perspective was they felt challenges to do and complete my activities, also there were
interaction to do more of my activities. Some of them they like to stay a long time in one activity to do it
again and again.
My lesson was achieved my teaching goals because I prepared different kind of activities in each corner,
and I the circle time I let to every students to repeat after me the name and the sound of the letter "R" and
to identify for me the rocket and the astronaut.

Transform (T):
I will prepare an auditory activity in the future, and I will ask my students after each lesson about the
activities and how you would like to be the activities.
My implication for my professional practice is I notice after each lesson the activities that my students like
it. I try to make a new activity that is good for them.
