The document provides instructions for programming an LS9100 scanner to communicate with a Verifone Ruby payment terminal. It lists the correct cabling and power supply options, and then 23 programming barcodes that must be scanned in order to configure the scanner's communication settings. Scanning a test barcode after programming should then allow data transmission to the Verifone Ruby terminal.

 The LS9100 has not been programmed to communicate to the Verifone Ruby.

RESOLUTION:

 Verify that the LS9100 is connected to the Ruby Verifone using one of the following cable/power
options:

For Verifone Ruby systems that supply power to the scanner via the com port, only Symbol cable 25-
16694-01 is needed.

For Verifone Ruby systems that do not supply power to the scanner via the com port, use Symbol cable
25-11490-01 with Verifone adapters 13641-01 and 13836-01 and Symbol power supply 50-14000-008.

 Program the LS9100 for communication to the Verifone Ruby using the correct programming bar codes.

ACTION STEPS:

1. Connect the LS9100 to the Verifone Ruby using the appropriate cabling and power supply (if applicable).
2. Scan the bar codes below in order from 1 through 23.
