Introduction -Warmer

1- Describe the setting, the grades you taught and explain the purpose of this

placement:

Professionalism

1- How did you demonstrate professional behavior as a trainee teacher in the school?

Explain how you maintained your professional status not only in your own classroom

but also across the school.

 On the first day when I want to the kindergarten, I was trying my best to modeling as a real

teacher through the exterior appearance and talking nicely with staff. Then I introduced

myself to the staff and the students in the classroom. In the classroom, I ask and consulted

the MST before I doing anything. The MST made me feel I’m a real teacher and the

students should respect me and follow my instruction. That kept me feel comfortable in the

classroom and be more responsible.

2- Explain how conducting and receiving one formal peer observations helped you to

develop professionally?

 When I receive a feedback from the MST after each lesson that I taught it. I acquired many

things that develop my skills in teaching because the first lesson that I taught I can’t take

control of the students and the benefits thing that the students understand the lesson but it

took a lot of time finished the lesson. Also, in the third lesson, the children interacted with

me, they understand what I explain to them and they enjoy the lesson and following my

instruction.
3- Explain how you collaborated with other staff in activities that involve the community

during this placement.

 During this placement I was collaborated with the MST and the other staff especially when

they have any event or workshop and I feel really that I model as a real teacher. When the

MST have a meeting or workshop, I sated in the classroom with assistant and taught the

students what they have to learn for the day. I follow the MST lesson plan, I explain the

concept but, in my ways, to keep the students comforted with me.

Planning for Learning (including Knowledge and Understanding of Content)

4- What difficulties did you face in planning seven differentiated lesson plans to ensure

that they included a range of activity types for the whole class, groups, and

individuals.

 During this practicum, I faced many difficulties while I taught the seven-lesson plan. At

the beginning I has one special need student that he chooses to doesn’t talk at all in front

any people except his family and he is so calm and polite. That let me feel worried how I

will teach him and know if he understands the concept of the lesson or how he

pronunciation the words, and that lets me thinks if I have a student with special need in my

classroom how I should treat with him or her to get them understand and reach the aims of

the concept of the lesson.

5- Explain how you assessed the learning objectives/outcomes you set the

students.

 I assessed the learning objectives outcomes at the end of each lesson. I saw how

the students engaging and active during the lesson. I assessed the outcome

though observe the students while doing the activity and at the end of the lesson

I evaluate the students by asking a question and let all the students answer or

give them a worksheet to make sure that they understood the lesson.

Implementing and Managing Learning (including behavior management, language,

and delivery)

6- Explain what you did to make sure that you’re modeling / demonstration of the

tasks you set your students was clear and effective.

 I taught the lesson for the students by greeting them and doing the daily routine to let the

students engaging and explain the concept of the lesson then explain the activities clearly.

I explain each activity by showing the students an example and let some of the student to

try it and tells the students each activity will be in which center. Explain the activity, give

the instruction how many students will be in each group and give the students chance to

choose the materials that will work on their activity.

7- What strategies did you apply to maintain student engagement and how effective

were they in ensuring that tasks were completed effectively?

 I used several strategies to keep students engaging and controlling them during the

lesson. The first strategy is the reward system. I create a reward system to manage the

students while teaching the lesson and support them because many students just need

more support to participate in the class with the rest of the students. That helps me to
achieve my goal what I plan for it too occurred organized. The second strategy is the

helper's hand. The helper hand strategy helps the students to be more organized and the

children love to help the teacher which made him feel happy because they know what

they will do and that let them Feels confident while they do the routine.

8- Provide examples of how you developed student independence and responsibility in

your classes.

 In my classroom every day each student has a chance to be the helper's hand. The helper

hand job is to change the day and date, bring the teacher stuff, Food distribution for

students and make sure after the lunch all the students clean their table and turn the chair

back. All this teaches the child to be responsibility and organizing.

Monitoring, Assessment, and Evaluation

9- What strategies did you use to monitor student progress across a range of connected

teaching sessions including class, group, pair, and individual work

 Monitor student progress it depends on the lesson. During Math lesson the teacher assesses

each student in front the class such as counting from one to twenty, the student count

between all the students, so the teacher can see the students who can count. Revers to

Arabic lesson the teacher gives each group a worksheet to recognize the sound in the first

words, middle or end of the word to know who need more practice to focus with her or

him. However, in English lesson, the teacher observes the students individually, how the

students pronounce the sound and to know if they recognized the difference between the

uppercase and the lowercase of the letter.

10- Provide examples of and describe the formative assessment instruments such as

anecdotal notes, checklists, Traffic Lights, photos, children self-assessment, Learning

Journey, etc... you used to evaluate student performance in a variety of activity types?

 During the areas time, I use t the checklist of the student’s names to observe and evaluate

the student’s levels. Often, I use the checklist during English lesson because the children

were developing their fine motor through form the sound by using the playdough or

geometric shapes, social and emotional skills while acting in role play and language skills

in the reading area “read a story in Puppet Theater”. So, the checklist includes types of

children skills that help the teacher to see the children abilities and they're developing.

Reflection on Practice

11- Which teaching strategies did you find were particularly effective and explained

why with reference to educational theory and/or experience?

 I try always to use several effective strategies while I taught the lesson. During each

lesson, I try to select the activities accurately to develop children’s skills and make some

of the challenging activities, especially for the high level. The children like the physical

activity to move their body more than sit in the chair and doing the worksheet, and the

cognitive skills and their social skills while they playing in the role play acting and

talking with their friends. “According to theory Jean Piaget’s the children from three to

five years they learning by doing and play, but still struggle with logic and taking the

point of view of other people.” (Cherry, 2017).

12- Identify and critically evaluate the influence of a range of stakeholders at your

school e.g. Ministry of Education, Principal, parents, etc.

 When the ministry of the Education visits our kindergarten were surprised from us

because they think we are from the staff but actually were trainer models as a real

teacher. They were proud of us when they see how we are organized and how we are

dealing with the children.

 The principle from the first day was welcome us and give us some instruction and the

kindergarten rules. Then after three weeks she came and observe us and she was proud of

what we are doing for the students especially when she sees some of the students work on

the wall and helping the MST.

13- Explain how closely you were able to apply key principles from your own teaching

philosophy as a student teacher in this school?

 I tried my best during this practicum to managing the classroom and get children control

and this is my goal. I used several strategies to get children control such as the reward

system which helps me to manage and encourage the students. The strategy that I used to

manage the classroom is the helper hand which was helping me to manage the classroom

and the students were happy when they do this strategy.

14- What would you say have been your particular strengths during this TP?

Which areas for development have you identified for next semester - justify

this?

 I improve in transition strategies which that helps me while I explaining the

lesson and controlling the students when they switch from activity to another

activity and do not let them feel bored during the lesson. Also, the MST was
surprised when she enters the class and see all the students sitting nicely and

following my instruction. Moreover, the reward system was working with me;

the students need prize from time to time to keep working. For next semester I

want to focus on teacher's voice and the challenging activ ities.
