Quality Assurance Quality: A. State The Differentiation Between Quality Control and Quality Assurance?

Quality assurance covers all aspects of design, development, production, installation, servicing and documentation to ensure products and services meet requirements and are fit for purpose. It regulates raw materials, components and processes. Quality control involves developing systems to design and produce products and services that meet or exceed customer needs, often using a cross-functional approach. The key difference is that quality assurance focuses on processes while quality control focuses on products. Quality control tests products to ensure minimum quality levels and stops production if quality drops, then identifies issues for others to address.

a. State the differentiation between quality control and quality assurance?

Quality Assurance covers all activities from design, development, production, installation,
servicing and documentation. This introduced the rules: "fit for purpose" and "do it right the first
time". It includes the regulation of the quality of raw materials, assemblies, products and
components; services related to production; and management, production, and inspection
processes

In engineering and manufacturing, quality control and quality engineering are involved in
developing systems to ensure products or services are designed and produced to meet or exceed
customer requirements. These systems are often developed in conjunction with other business
and engineering disciplines using a cross-functional approach.

QA is QualityAssurance
but
QC is QualityControl
The difference is that QA is process oriented and QC is product oriented.
Testing, therefore is product oriented and thus is in the QC domain. Testing for quality isn't
assuring quality, it's controlling it.
 Quality Assurance makes sure you are doing the right things, the right way.
 Quality Control makes sure the results of what you've done are what you expected.

Quality control is the process of examining your output for minimum levels of quality in some
dimension. The quality control team does not actually improve the quality, they just stop
production when the measured quality drops below a given limit.

To restart production, the source of the quality problem must be identified and fixed, but this is
beyond the responsibility of the quality control team
