Subject: <project name PIR>
General PIR Scene-setting email to ALL participants – to be sent by
either the PM or facilitator/s:
As the <CLIENT NAME> <project name>draws to a close it is time to
reflect on how the project went and return the IP and learning’s back into the organisation for other projects to use and learn from. As part of our standard Service Delivery and Assurance (SDA) processes we seek to conduct a Post Implementation Review (PIR) fairly soon after the end of all projects of this nature.
The PIR has a number of objectives – some are administrative and
some are continuous improvement based. In the PIR we need to establish a clear picture of: 1. How the project went against its Oakton goals (time, Profit (cost & revenue), quality, reputation) 2. How the project went against (<CLIENT NAME>) goals (Business Benefit (time & cost), quality, reputation) 3. How well our method worked (OIS and PM and CM) 4. How well our technology/tools were suited to and worked for the project 5. How well people were suited/prepared for the project 6. What worked well; 7. Any improvements to be considered to ensure we improve our performance on the next project of this nature
In preparation please review your own view of the project focussing
on: 1. Chronology of events 2. Key decisions and turning points 3. What worked well that you like to see continued on other projects; 4. Any improvements/changes to be considered to ensure we improve our performance on the next project of this nature
