05-Information System For Conference Management

For a conference, authors submit papers which are reviewed by at least two reviewers. Papers are either accepted without changes, accepted with modifications, or refused. Accepted papers are published in proceedings and presented orally at the conference. Authors and participants must register and pay fees depending on their status. The information system would manage the conference using a database to store paper submissions, reviews, proceedings, and registration information.

Information system for conference management

For a conference, authors submit papers. The papers are reviewed by a minimum of two reviewers. The
result of the review is 1) acceptance without modification, 2) acceptance with modifications, 3) refusal.
The accepted papers are published in a proceeding in form of a book with editors and ISBN. The venue and
the date of the conference are specified on the proceeding.
The accepted papers are presented orally during the conference. The conference could be on several days.
The authors are expected to submit the PowerPoint of their oral presentations.
The authors and participants are expected to register for the conference and pay a corresponding amount
based on their status (student, lecturers, professionals).
For a paper to appear in the proceeding, the deadline for paper submission must be respected.
A paper is composed of the title, the authors and their institutions. The authors are not necessarily from the
same institution. The authors provide a list of keywords for representing their papers.
Propose an ER and the associated Relational model for the specification.
The proposed database should be used for developing an Information System for the management of the
conference.
Here are some examples of the use of the system:
 Provide the list of authors
 Provide the list of institutions of authors
 Provide the list of institutions of participants
 Etc.
