    RITE OF ANOINTING A SICK PERSON

    IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER…….


    THE LORD BE WITH YOU.

    LET THIS WATER CALL TO MIND OUR BAPTISM INTO CHRIST, WHO BY HIS DEATH AND RESURRECTION HAS REDEEMED US.

    NOW LET US ACKNOWLEDGE OUR SINS…LORD JESUS, YOU HEALED THE SICK: LORD HAVE MERCY.LORD JESUS, YOU FORGAVE
    SINNERS: CHRIST HAVE MERCY. LORD JESUS, YOU GIVE YOURSELF TO HEAL US AND BRING US STRENGTH: LORD HAVE MERCY……. MAY
    ALMIGHTY GOD HAVE MERCY ON US, FORGIVE US OUR SINS AND BRING US TO EVERLASTING LIFE. AMEN.

    READING (James 5:13-16)


    Is anyone among you suffering? He should pray. Is anyone in good spirits? He should sing praise.Is anyone among you sick?* He should summon the
    presbyters of the church, and they should pray over him and anoint [him] with oil in the name of the Lord and the prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the
    Lord will raise him up. If he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.*
    Confession and Intercession. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous
    person is very powerful.

    INTERCESSIONS: LORD, HEAR US.


    1. MAY OUR PRAYER OF FAITH LET US APPEAL TO GOD FOR OUR PATIENT.COME AND STRENGTHEN HIM/HER THROUGH THIS HOLY
    ANOINTING, WE PRAY.
    2. FREE HIM/HER FROM ALL HARM. WE PRAY.
    3. RELIEVE THE SUFFERINGS OF ALL THE SICK. WE PRAY.
    4. ASSIST ALL THOSE DEDICATED TO THE CARE OF THE SICK.WE PRAY.
    5. GIVE LIFE AND GOOD HEALTH TO OUR PATIENT AND STRENGHTEN THE FAITH OF HIS/HER LOVE ONES GATHERED HERE. WE PRAY.
    OUR FATHER…
    ANOINTING…
    THROUGH THIS HOLY ANOINTING, MAY THE LORD IN HIS LOVE AND MERCY HELP YOU WITH THE GRACE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. AMEN. MAY
    THE LORD WHO FREES YOU FROM SIN SAVE YOU AND RAISE YOU UP. AMEN.

    LAMB OF GOD WHO TAKES AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD…
    HAIL MARY FULL OF GRACE….

    ALMIGHTY GOD AND LOVING FATHER, THE AUTHOR OF LIFE, YOU ARE THE SOURCE OF ALL GOODNESS AND LOVE, AND YOU NEVER
    REFUSE FORGIVENESS TO THOSE WHO ARE SORRY FOR THEIR SINS. HAVE MERCY ON YOUR SON/DAUGHTER WHO IS PRESENTLY FACING
    DIFFICULTY IN HIS/HER LIFE BECAUSE OF SICKNESS. WE ENTRUST EVERYTHING TO YOUR LOVING CARE OUR BELOVED PATIENT. GIVE WHAT
    IS BEST FOR HIM/HER RIGHT NOW. LET YOUR WILL BE DONE. GRANT COURAGE AND FAITH TO HIS/HER LOVE ONES HERE PRESENT. SEND
    YOUR HOLY SPIRIT TO CONSOLE AND COMFORT US. WE ASK THIS WITH THE INTERCESSION OF THE BLESSED MOTHER MARY, THROUGH
    CHRIST OUR LORD. AMEN.
