School Counseling Program Mission Statement


In alignment with Safari High School's mission statement, the mission statement of the Safari High School Counseling
Program is to provide all students with the necessary skills and environment to succeed in their academic, career, and
personal & social ambitions. School counselors work together with administrators, teachers, staff members,
parents/guardians, stakeholders, and members of the community with the purpose of preparing students in all aspects
of their lives for after high school so that they can achieve out in the world.

School Counseling Program Goals


The school counseling program will focus on the following achievement, attendance and/or behavior goals this year.
Details of activities promoting these goals are found in the curriculum, small-group and closing-the-gap action plans.

Program Goal Statements

1 The School counseling program will increase the number of classroom lessons focusing on personal & social
topics in order to bridge friendships between students
2 The school counseling program will increase closing-the-gap actions plans in order to promote
achievement, attendance, and behavior in our school
3 The school counseling program will increase the number and variety of small group availability in order to
reach more students

Advisory Council
The school counseling advisory council will meet on the following dates.

The advisory council meets the first Tuesday of each month after school at 3:45 to 4:45.

The school counseling office will be open for students/parents/teachers from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm; or by appointment.

My hours will be from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm (if flexible scheduling is used).


The career center will be open from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.
