INSTALLATION MANUAL: HADOOP ON WINDOWS

This Guide will help you to set up VM in your system.


Step 1: Download the VM-Ware player using below link:

Step 2: After downloading VM ware-player-12.1.0-3272444.exe file and Follow the below step to
install in your system.

Step 3: Accept the license and Click on Next.

Step 4: Click on Next.

Step 5: Click on Next

Step 6: Click on Next.

Step 7: Click on Install.

Note: Now wait for few seconds.

Step 8: Click on finish.

Step 9: This is the link for Hadoop VM.

Step 10: After Installation VM ware player, you can find VM Player shortcut on the Desktop.
Now open the VM Player.

Step 11: Click on “Open a Virtual Machine”. And browse for the Hadoop 2.6.0 extracted folder.
And you have to open “Ubuntu 64-bit.VMX”file.

Step 12: Click on “Edit virtual machine settings”

Step 13: You can change the ram size as per your system properties.
The recommended memory is 4GB.

Hope you have good configured system.

Step 14: Click on “play virtual machine”

Step 15: Login as user
Password: 1234

Step 16: Now your Hadoop VM is setup. Please read the readme file on the Desktop.

And you can find the Hadoop program on the Desktop. You have to run
every program.
Each program has data set and readme file.
You have to follow the below pattern for practical’s.

 HDFS
 MapReduce.
 PIG
 HIVE
 HBASE
 SQOOP
 FLUME
 OOZIE

Step 17: Start Hadoop daemons.
Command: start-all.sh
