Decommissioning

Activity Remove System from LMDB

Prerequisites
You have executed the Remove Diagnostics Agent manual activity.
You have executed the Deactivate Data Suppliers manual activity.
You have executed the Print Documentation manual activity.

Procedure

1. Remove the technical system:


1. Start transaction LMDB.
2. On the Technical Systems tab, enter the technical system Type and the Extended SID of the
decommissioned system.
3. Choose Edit.
4. Choose Advanced -> Delete Technical System from LMDB and save your settings.

2. Remove the database used by this technical system if no


more needed:
1. On the LMDB Start Screen, choose the Technical Systems tab and choose Type: Database System
and the Extended SID of the decommissioned system.
2. Choose Edit.
3. Choose Advanced -> Delete Technical System from LMDB and save your settings.

3. Remove the host used by this technical system if no more


needed:
1. On the LMDB start screen, choose the Host tab and enter the Host Name of the decommissioned
system.
2. Choose Edit.
3. Choose Delete Host and save your settings.
The guided procedure can no longer be performed.
Delete the decommissioned system from the SLD, following the instructions in the printed documentation.

Note: Data from LMDB are synchronized with SMSY (SAP Solution Manager System Landscape). Deleting
the decommissioned system triggers also a removal in SMSY by regular synchronization.

Activity Remove System from SLD


In this activity, you remove the decommissioned system from the SLD (System Landscape Directory).

Prerequisites
You have executed the Remove System from LMDB manual activity.
You have executed the Print Documentation manual activity.
You know the SLD host name, port, administrator user, and password.

Procedure
1. To open your SLD, start the URL https://<SLD_Hostname>:<HTTPS_Port>/sld.
2. Log on with an SLD administrator user.
3. On the Technical Systems page, select the Technical System Type and search for the
decommissioned system.
4. Select the decommissioned system and choose Remove.

The system has been decommissioned.

Note: For specific technical system types, try to select the Other (...) category in the Technical System
Type dropdown box.

Note: Not all types of technical systems are displayed in the SLD user interface. If you cannot find the
decommissioned system in the SLD user interface, follow SAP Note 1781779.
