MOTION ANALYZER DIRECTIONS

Attached is your new C-E Tyler Motion Analyzer for mechanical vibrating

screens . The Motion Analyzer will help you determine the action your machine

is producing .

CIRCLE - THROW VIBRATING MACHINES

Place the Analyzer on the side plate of your machine, as close to the

vibrating mechanism as possible. Locate the circle throw on the Motion Ana-

lyzer that your machine was engineered to produce. This will be your re-

ference circle.

Now start your machine and check its present circular action . . . . ...• .

1. Normal - The reference circle will appear as a uniform

gray circle when the actual vibrating machine's body is

equal to the reference circle on the Motion Analyzer.

2. Over Throw - A White spot will appear in the center of the

reference circle when the actual vibrating machine's circle

is larger than the reference circle on the analyzer.

3. Under Throw - A black spot will appear in the center of the

reference circ le . This black s pot occurs when the machine's

circle is smaller than the reference circle on the analyzer .

HORIZONTAL VIBRATING MACHINES

To check the straight line action of your machine, place the Motion

Analyz er parallel to the top of the side plate.

Start your machine and check its ' a ction angle. The ang le line which

a ppears most clearly represents th approximate angle of action . Is your

machine still operating a t the s ame angle as when originally ins talled. Is

t he action a ngle still a near straight l i ne or has it become severly ellipti-

c a l? The l engt h of stroke of your horizonal sc reen c an also be determined

by loca ting the images of the c ircle which a re just t ouching .

If your machine's circle t hrow or s tra i ght line ac tion has changed since

your machine was orig i na lly installed , it cou ld be one of the first signs of

trouble ahead.

Your machine c ould be was ting motion and power, t he correc t throw or

action angle could cause your machine to operate at less than peak eff ic i en cy ,

and bea ring life can be effected.
