Cadence File Via DC++:

● Download and install DC++. You have share 10 GB to access Hub.


● Hub IP:
Poison: 10.194.17.20:12345
Vintage: 10.16.4.249:7070
Search for Cadence User over the Hub and Download the Centos_IEP_VBox.tar.gz file.

Installing VirtualBox-
● Copy the "Centos_IEP_VBox.tar.gz" (about 22 GB) from pendrive or network
location onto your laptop
● Unzip the file using the below command:
Windows users can use the 7-zip software
For Unix based system use:
tar xvfz Centos_IEP_VBox.tar.gz

● Install the software "VirtualBox" (version 5.0 and above) (Make sure its 64 bit)-
setup files for the below operating systems is available in the pendrive
○ Ubuntu 16.04
○ Ubuntu 14.04
○ OS X (Mac)
○ Windows
○ SUSE 13.1

● Open the VirtualBox software


● Create a new machine with the following options
○ Type: Linux
○ Version: Red Hat (64-bit)
○ Memory size: 4096 (or higher) is recommended
○ Use an existing virtual hard disk file --> browse and select the extracted file
"Centos_IEP_VBox-disk1.vdi" (about 53 GB file)
● Start the machine
● Password for the default username "smart" is "smart" (change the password as per
your convenience)

1.Virtualization Error (AMD-V in the BIOS Erorr) Please Refer or search for other reference.

Change IP Address to access cadence License:


Go to file cadence.cshrc in work_cad_scl_180nm Folder, right click and open it into gedit,
change IP address to below mentioned:

CDS_LIC_FILE [email protected]
******************************************

Launch Virtuoso
● Open terminal by clicking the terminal icon
● Change directory to the 180nm work cad
cd work_cad_scl_180nm

● Change to C-Shell
csh

● Set the environment variables by sourcing the .cshrc file


source cadence.cshrc

● Start Cadence Virtuoso using either of the two commands below


virtuoso &
ic&
