From Tomorrow’s Business Leader, Fall 2017, read the article “The Impact FBLA Has Had on
Me” by FBLA Southern Region Vice President Keenan Carter.

Answer the following questions.

1. What service project did Keenan create? A Blanket Drive

2. What is “First Sight?”, I found that warm baby blankets play a vital role in saving their lives.
Giving a NICU patient a warm blanket can recreate what I like to call the “First Sight.” When a
baby is released from NICU and they see their family for the first time

3. What business classes did he reference that benefited him in his accomplishment? Marketing
essentials, Advanced Business Technology Applications

4. What employability and leadership skills did he reference that he has acquired as a result.
of being in FBLA? He was able to speak in front of thousands of people and gained confidence
in leadership skills

5. At this point in your high school career, how has FBLA impacted your life? (Please share in
paragraph form, 5-7 sentences.) Through FBLA, I have gained confidence in my leadership
skills and my public speaking. I have had the opportunity to speak in front of thousands of
people and network with people from all across the world. These experiences have prepared
me for my future career as a Leadership Coach, where I will work with young leaders to help
them unlock their full potential and find the confidence they need to reach their goals. I will
interact with students and teachers on a daily basis. Communicating with members in FBLA has
fully equipped me to do this.
