1. SUMMARY

The Kay Tanda prospect, part of the Archangel project area of Mindoro Resources Ltd., is
located about 150 km south southeast of Manilla in the Philippines within the southeastern part of
Batangas Province and is accessible by road from the city of Batangas. The prospect is in an area
of moderate relief and enjoys a tropical climate with a somewhat pronounced wet season between
June and October. The Archangel area is covered by a Mineral Prospect Sharing Agreement that
covers 981 hectares. Two areas of gold mineralization have been outlined within the Archangel
project area, that of Pulang Lupa and Kay Tanda; the gold resource estimated herein applies only
to the Kay Tanda area.
Earliest exploitation of the mineral resources of the area was undertaken by Chinese miners
who were later displaced by Spanish colonists. During Japanese occupation of the Philippines
during WWII some mining was carried on copper mineralization at Archangel but since that time
no further mining activities appear to have been undertaken. Western Mining Corporation
subsequently carried out an exploration programme over the area (1987) and drilled three diamond
holes at Kay Tanda. This work was followed up in 1996 by Chase Minerals Ltd. who drilled nine
reverse circulation holes at Kay Tanda and four at Pulang Lupa, to the west of Kay Tanda Mindoro
acquired the rights to explore the Archangel area in 2000.
The Archangel project area lies to the west of the Philippine Fault, a major transcurrent
fault that extends the length of the Philippine archipelago and which essentially separates two
terranes of differing age and tectonic history. In the Batangas region where the Archangel project
is located a major west northwest-striking curvilinear structure termed the Laiya Fault separates
older rocks to the northeast from a younger (Miocene - Recent) assemblage of volcanic rocks and
associated sedimentary strata to the southwest. Oldest rocks exposed in the area are hornblende
andesite tuff and breccia and which, in the eastern part of the project area, appear to be overlain by
dacite which, however, may in part be intrusive. Younger volcaniclastic and epiclastic sediments
and reefal carbonates overlie both dacitic and andesitic rocks.
Mineralization in the Archangel area is probably related to intermediate to felsic intrusions
at depth and is of epithermal high sulphidation precious metal type. To the west of Archangel at
Lobo several quartz-barite veins with high gold and copper values are typical of this mineralization
type. Copper mineralization within a dioritic intrusion in the southern part of the Archangel project
area is possibly genetically related to structurally higher gold and silver mineralization within a zone
of silicification that appears to overlie a zone of advanced argillic and sericitic alteration, typical
of intrusion-related mineralization in the Philippine archipelago.
The locations of drill holes of Chase and WMC were confirmed in the field. Laboratory
analyses of reverse circulation drill samples were also verified by a visit to McPhar Laboratories

BAILEY GEOLOGICAL CONSULTANTS (CANADA) LTD.

Page 2 Mindoro Resources Ltd: Archangel Project - Kay Tanda Prospect

in Manilla, the laboratory that carried out the Chase drill sample analyses. WMC data is not
available for checking at this time.
Gold and silver resources were estimated for the near-surface oxide zone at Kay Tanda.
Because of the low grade of mineralization in this zone, a cut-off of 0.2 g/t gold was applied to the
data because of unknown accuracy and precision and the likelihood that accuracy and precision
decreases markedly at low metal values. The specific gravity of the mineralized rock was assumed
to be 2.5 g/cc - this may be high for oxide mineralization owing to the possibility of a significant
clay content and, thus, tonnage figures for the oxide zone may be less than stated. However, 2.5 g/cc
is thought to be probably representative of the density of unoxidized rock. Resource estimates were
made using a standard polygon interpolation method. The thickness of the oxide zone in WMC
drill holes is not stated in the data available and so oxide thickness intersected by WMC drill holes
was extrapolated from neighbouring reverse circulation holes. All drill holes were directed to the
east or were vertical except for one hole, CA-4, which was drilled to the west. This hole failed to
intersect gold mineralization at grades of greater than 0.2 g/t gold in the oxide zone although
significant gold grades were intersected in this hole within unoxidized mineralization.
Oxide mineralization is estimated to comprise about 6,300,000 tonnes at a grade of 0.48 g/t
gold and 4.4 g/t silver. The underlying sulphide mineralization is estimated to contain about
10,700,000 tonnes at 0.79 g/t gold and 1.3 g/t silver. This equates to a total inferred gold resource
of about 370,000 ounces plus silver at a grade of 0.68 g/t gold and 2.48 g/t silver.
Given the lack of quality control on the data used in these estimates and the assumptions
made with respect to specific gravity, oxide thickness in WMC diamond drill holes and the
configuration of zones of sulphide mineralization, these estimates may be quite inaccurate.
The potential for increasing tonnage, and perhaps grade, depends on whether the zone of
silicification is hypogene and down faulted to the east, a possibility suggested by the regional
structural geology or whether it is supergene and of limited extent due, perhaps, to erosion on the
eastern side. Both the thickness of the oxide and sulphide zones and grades appear to increase to
the east and further work is warranted in this area.

2. CONCLUSIONS

1. The Kay Tanda prospect of the Archangel project area may contain about 17,000,000 tonnes of
mineralized material at an weighted average grade of about 0.68 g/t gold and 2.98 g/t silver, using
a 0.2 g/t gold cut-off. However, because of unknown accuracy and precision of the analytical data,
the lack of specific gravity measurements and the paucity of data on geological controls of
mineralization, these estimates must be viewed as extremely approximate and may vary widely from
a true tonnage and grade.

2. Two possible mineralization models are considered to be appropriate for Kay Tanda. If
silicification is supergene in origin and is preserved only in upland areas, there seems little possibility
of increasing the tonnage of oxidized material significantly. If, however, silicification is hypogene the
possibility exists of a down-faulted zone of silicification being preserved to the east. In the latter case
the potential for the discovery of additional tonnages of sulphide-bearing material underlying oxidized
rock to the east of the area drilled is also considered to be reasonable.

3. Mineralization was probably controlled by the permeability and porosity of the host rock. As
suggested by gold intersections in drill hole CA-4, there may be at least two levels of precious metal
mineralization associated with sulphides.

4. There is a good possibility that precious metals at Kay Tanda were deposited from solutions
passing up northeasterly-striking extension faults or fracture systems and that grade may increase
towards such structures.

5. Mineralization at Pulang Lupa to the west of Kay Tanda is probably of similar type to that at Kay
Tanda and potential exists at Pulang Lupa to define similar grades and tonnages as at Kay Tanda.

3. RECOMMENDATIONS

1. Before any further drilling is contemplated at Kay Tanda detailed geological mapping should be
undertaken if possible, given that in tropical terrains commonly deep weathering and a paucity of
outcrop often makes this task difficult. However, construction of a geological model of mineralization
and its controls should be attempted in order to direct any future drilling programme.

2. A systematic quality control programme should be initiated and adhered to during any additional
drilling. This programme should include the collection of a statistically meaningful number of
duplicate samples that should be numbered randomly before submission to a laboratory. In addition,
replicate samples should be routinely taken, especially if drilling is by reverse circulation, and blanks
(and/or standards) should be included in each sample batch. Interlaboratory checks should also be
standard practice.

3. It is also recommended that, if further drilling is undertaken, some of the Chase holes be twinned
so that in any future resource or reserve estimate the Chase data may possibly be incorporated in the
new data set.

4. Sufficient samples should be collected for specific gravity measurements and the tonnages given
herein recalculated to reflect the more accurate rock density data.

5. Any further work should also test the possibility that northeasterly-striking extensional structures
controlled the loci of precious metal deposition and that, at Kay Tanda, one such structure may exist
in the area that has been drilled or to the east.

6. Further work is warranted at Pulang Lupa in an effort to define the geology and controls of
mineralization in this area.

4. INTRODUCTION

4.1 General Statement

This report, prepared at the request of Mr. J.A. Climie of Mindoro Resources Ltd.
(“Mindoro”), provides a precious metal resource estimate of the Kay Tanda prospect located
within the Archangel area of the northern Philippines (Figure 1). The property is the subject
of an agreement between Mindoro Resources Ltd. and Egerton Gold Phils. Inc. whereby
Mindoro may earn up to a 75% interest in the property. On achieving production Egerton
Gold Phil. Inc. has the right to participate at the 25% level or convert that interest to a 2%
gross smelter royalty.
The Archangel area has seen former production but, at this stage, does not contain
any known economic mineral deposits or ore reserves.
Areas of responsibility for this report are:
1). Mr. Stephen Carty, M.Aus.I.M.M. carried out a field visit to the Archangel
project area to confirm drill hole locations and subsequently visited the offices of McPhar
Laboratories, Makati, Philippines to verify assay data. Mr. Carty’s report is include as
Section 7, herein.
2). Dr. David Bailey, P.Geo., F.Aus.I.M.M. of Bailey Geological Consultants
(Canada) Ltd. carried out the resource estimate and prepared the bulk of the report.

4.2 Location, Access and Physiography

The Kay Tanda prospect lies within the Archangel project area of Batangas Province
(Figure 1) centred at about latitude 13o 38' 0"N and longitude 120o 18' 30" E. The prospect
area is accessible by road from the city of Batangas to the west of the prospect area via the
town of Lobo although the road from Lobo to the Archangel area may be difficult to negotiate
during the wet season. The topography of the area is moderate to steep although maximum
relief is only about 300 metres. Primary forest of the region has largely been logged and a
secondary growth of a thorny scrub and grasses now covers much of the area. The climate
of the region is tropical with a wet season between June and October. The region is also
prone to typhoons commonly during the period July to September.

4.4 Mineral Tenements

The Archangel area is covered by a Mineral Prospect Sharing Agreement (“MPSA”)
covering 981 hectares (Mindoro news release, July 31, 2002). The writers have not
confirmed the current status of this MPSA.

5. PREVIOUS WORK

Earliest records of mining in the Archangel area described by Spanish settlers and
recorded in “The History of the Philippine Islands”, a series of volumes translated into
English from Spanish and Filipino archives (in Miguel et al, 1997). Spanish mining activities
postdated earlier work by Chinese miners - evidence of some of these early activities is
preserved within the Kay Tanda area.
During Japanese occupation of the Philippines in the period 1940 - 1945 exploration
was conducted in the Kay Tanda area but it appears that the Japanese undertook only minor
exploitation of metal deposits within the area (Avila, 1980). In the 1970's the Japanese
corporation, Sumitomo, carried out soil geochemical surveys and geophysics in the Archangel
area and drilled two holes in the search for porphyry copper mineralization. According to
Buenavista (1992), no significant mineralization was encountered during this drilling
programme.
In 1980 the Philippine Bureau of Mines carried out a reconnaissance geological
survey of the southern Batangas province and which included the Kay Tanda area of this
report (Avila, 1980).
In 1987 Western Mining Corporation (“WMC”) initiated a geochemical exploration
programme in the southern Batangas region. This programme resulted in the recognition of
a zone of gold mineralization at Kay Tanda that was tested by WMC by three diamond drill
holes, ARD 4a and 4b and ARD 6 (Figure 7) (holes ARD 4a and 4b were drilled from the
same setup but at different angles).
Chase Resource Corporation, through its wholly owned Philippine company, Chase
Minerals (Phils.) Corp., subsequently obtained rights to explore the Kay Tanda area under
agreements with the claim holders and in 1997 drilled thirteen reverse circulation holes in the
area, nine at Kay Tanda and four at Pulang Lupa (Figure 4). The results of this drill
programme form the basis for the resource estimate given below. The locations of Chase’s
Kay Tanda drill holes are shown in Figures 4 and 7: analytical results and drill hole
coordinates are listed in Appendix A.
Mindoro acquired the right to earn an interest in the Archangel project in 2000 and
is currently evaluating the area in terms of further exploration.

6. GEOLOGY

6.1 Regional
The Archangel area lies within a belt of Upper Tertiary (Miocene-Pliocene) volcanic
rocks and associated sedimentary strata formed as a result of the easterly-directed subduction
of oceanic crust along the Manila Trench to the west of the northern part of the Philippine
archipelago (Figure 2). The region occurs to the southwest of the Philippine Fault, a major
transcurrent fault that effectively separates two terranes of differing age and tectonic history
(Figure 2). In the Batangas region a west northwest structure termed the Laiya Fault (Avila,
1980) marks the boundary between andesite and intrusive complexes to the northwest and
younger volcanic and associated strata to the southeast (Figure 3). It is within this younger
group of rocks to the southwest of the Laiya Fault that the Archangel Project, Lobo and other
zones of mineralization occur.
The southwestern block is cut by two sets of fractures, a northwesterly-trending set
of fractures and faults and a northeasterly-trending set that Corbett and Leach (1998) refer
to as transfer structures. These are deep-seated structures thought to have formed in response
to varying subduction rates of the down-going plate and the writer considers that they may
represent the upwards expression of subducting transform faults within the underlying
oceanic plate. These are important in controlling the loci of mineralization in the overlying
plate and their recognition is significant in regional evaluations.
Within the Batangas region three such transfer structures have been recognised, the
Taysan transfer structure that appears to have controlled the Talahib-Tibig porphyry systems
and two transfer structures that have controlled the location of the Lobo zones of
mineralization and the Archangel zones of mineralization (Figure 5) (Corbett, 1996).
All known metallic mineralization of the region appears to be related to intermediate
to felsic intrusive bodies that have been emplaced at high structural levels. Porphyry copper-
gold deposits are directly related to the evolution of these intrusions and high-sulphidation
epithermal systems such as at Lobo and Archangel were probably formed from metalliferous
acid solutions derived from these intrusions as they cooled.

6.2 Geology of the Archangel Area

The Archangel area is underlain by a suite of Miocene-Pliocene volcanic rocks that
are unconformably overlain by limestone and andesitic tuff and breccia of Quaternary age.
Oldest rocks exposed are known as the Talahib hornblende andesite of Middle Miocene age
and which adjoin dacitic rocks which are exposed in the eastern part of the project area
(Figure 4) that may be of Upper Miocene or Lower Pliocene age. The dacite may, at least

B A IL E Y G E O L O G IC A L C O N S U LT A N T S (C A N A D A) LT D .
Page 9 Mindoro Resources Ltd: Archangel Project - Kay Tanda Prospect

in part, represent a high level intrusion rather than being eruptive. Overlying these rocks is
Quaternary limestone and which, in turn, is overlain by andesitic volcanic rocks comprising
mainly airfall tuff and breccia. These volcanic strata have been termed the Lobo andesite
(Miguel at al, 1997) .
The structural geology of the Archangel area is poorly understood at this time.
However, to some degree topographic lineaments and the attitudes of Miocene volcanic strata
may reflect inferred northeasterly-striking faults that may be part of the Archangel transfer
structure of Corbett (1996). Northwesterly-striking faults that have been recognised to the
west of the Archangel area probably extend into the Archangel area and may have had some
influence on the control of drainage channel development in the area.

6.3 Mineralization and Alteration

The region hosts several precious metal deposits of epithermal aspect of which one,
Lobo, is currently being examined by Mindoro. The Lobo area consists of a northeasterly-
striking system of quartz veins that have been mined in the past for their gold and silver
content. Recent work has established the presence of two main quartz-barite veins that are
believed to extend over a strike length of two kilometres (Mindoro News Release, September
16, 2002) and which, in places are reported to contain extremely high copper values and
associated precious metals (e.g. up to 21.6% copper, 3.36 g/t gold and 790 g/t silver -
Mindoro News Release, op. cit.). Records of previous mining activities indicate widths of
one of these veins (the Sampson vein) of up to 19 metres (Philippine Mining Journal, July
1967).
Within the Archangel project area there is little information on the mineralization that
was exploited initially by Chinese workers and later by the Spanish. Avila (1980) describes
several occurrences of copper mineralization in the region but it is not clear from his report
where these occurrences are located. In the southwestern part of the Archangel project area
is a quartz diorite with associated copper staining and which may represent porphyry-style
mineralization. The rocks here have undergone phyllosilicate hydrothermal alteration.
The style of mineralization at Kay Tanda, and to the west at Pulang Lupa, both
within the Archangel tenement area (Figure 3) appears to be that of disseminated sulphides
with anomalous gold and silver within an essentially flat-lying zone of silicification within
andesite and which overlies zones of clay and sericite alteration. The silica alteration zone
displays features indicative of acid leaching such as the development of a vuggy character
but it is not yet clear whether this leaching is of hypogene origin or whether it is the result of
supergene acid solutions generated by the oxidation of sulphides. However it appears from
drilling to date that only the top 10 - 30 or 40 metres of this zone is oxidized; at lower levels

silicification is accompanied by sulphides.

In this report gold resources in oxidized rock and in unoxidized sulphide-bearing rock
are estimated separately given the probable differing physical properties of oxide- and
sulphide-bearing auriferous material. .

7. DRILL HOLE AND ASSAY RECORDS VERIFICATION (See Notes Below)

7.1 General Statement

Mr. J.A. Climie of Mindoro Resources requested one of the writers (STC) to: (i)
visit Mindoro's Archangel project in Batangas for the purpose of independent verification of
the existence of drill hole collars from Chase Minerals' RC drilling programme in the area,
and (ii) to independently verify that Chase's assay records from that programme are in
agreement with the McPhar assay laboratory records.
This section details the work undertaken to complete both of these tasks.

7.2 Field Visit

Accompanied by Mr. Edsel Abrasaldo, Mindoro Resources' geologist, and Mr Jesse
Miguel, Former Archangel project geologist with Chase Minerals, the writer traveled to the
project site, specifically the Kay Tanda prospect, on July 31,2002.
The seven Chase RC and one WMC diamond drill hole collars identified at the Kay
Tanda prospect were as follows :

Chase RC collars : CA-01.-02,-03,-04,-05,-06 and -09

WMC diamond collar : ARD-6

The drill hole collars were located and identified by (1) the presence of PVC collar
piping left in the hole by the drilling contractor, East-West drilling, and (2) by the 2 metre
composite bulk samples left at each drill site by Chase after splitting to obtain the sample to
be sent for analysis at the McPhar laboratory in Manila.
Surprisingly, even though a lot of the plastic sample bags had decayed since the holes
were drilled in 1997, there were sufficient numbers of bags at each hole location with legible
hole numbers, sample intervals and sample numbers for the undersigned to be 100%
confident that the drill hole was one of those drilled by Chase.
The WMC hole was inferred to be ARD-6 because of its correct position relative to
Chase hole CA-05, as indicated in the Chase project report made available to the writer. The
writer is confident that the positions assigned for the other WMC holes shown in the Chase
report are also correct.
Photographs were taken of each of the seven Chase drill sites, including a poster with
the drill hole I.D. signed by the writer to confirm his visit to each drill site , and a photo of
the bulk samples at each drill site with legible hole number, sample interval and sample
numbers. Originals of these photos are retained by Mindoro at its Manila office.

Page 15 Mindoro Resources Ltd: Archangel Project - Kay Tanda Prospect

GPS readings were taken at each drill site but these were considered to be unreliable
owing to poor weather conditions on the day of the site visit. The relative positions of the
Chase RC holes did however agree with their positions as shown in Chase's project report
made available to the writer.
According to Mr Jesse Miguel, the RC 2 metre composite bulk samples were split
on site using a Jones splitter and 2-3kg sample splits were delivered to McPhar by Chase's
own vehicle.

7.3 Assay Data Verification

On August 01, 2002, the writer visited the McPhar office in Manila to check the
veracity of the Chase assay records. McPhar's original assay certificates for the Kay Tanda
drill hole samples were destroyed in a fire at McPhar's laboratory in 1997 but they were able
to provide access to their digital assay record back-ups.
In all thirteen holes drilled by Chase, their reported gold and silver assay data agree
with the McPhar records. The sample numbers found on the plastic sample bags at the seven
drill hole collar locations identified in the field by the writer on July 31 were used as a further
check against the sample numbers for each batch of Chase's samples. Again, the sample
numbers agreed with those in the McPhar records.
McPhar provided copies of their digital assay records for the thirteen batches
representing the thirteen drill holes completed by Chase.
Mr Art del Mundo, Chief Chemist at McPhar, confirmed that the analyses carried
out on the Chase samples were as follows :

Au : 50 gram fire assay with AAS finish

Ag, Cu, Pb, Zn : 3-acid digestion on 1 gram sample with AAS finish
As : VGA analysis

Sample preparation entailed dry crushing, coarse pulverising, and fine pulverising of a 1kg
split to 200 mesh grain size, from which the 50 gram sample for fire assay was then taken.
Regarding the assay data for the WMC holes, the writer began working with WMC
in the Philippines in 1991 shortly after WMC had completed their drilling programme at
Archangel. Although having never worked on the Archangel project, the writer has no doubt
as to the veracity of the reported WMC assay data. Apparently, the WMC drill core is still
available for inspection if such is required at some later stage.

7.4 Conclusion
Based on the site visit and validation of the McPhar assay records, the writer is
certain that the drill hole data provided by Chase on Kay Tanda is true (but see discussion
on analytical accuracy and precision in Section 8 - DGB).

Notes added in edit by DGB:

1. Chase Minerals Ltd. drilled nine holes at Kay Tanda and four holes at Pulang Lupa to the west
of Kay Tanda (see Figure 5 for locations of Pulang Lupa and Kay Tanda). Only the nine holes
drilled at Kay Tanda, holes CA1 to CA9, are considered in this report.
2. Assay data examined by STC at McPhar Laboratories in Makati included all thirteen holes
drilled by Chase, i.e. four at Pulang Lupa and nine at Kay Tanda.
3. Western Mining Corporation (“WMC”) has retained the drill logs of the three holes drilled by
WMC at Kay Tanda and two drilled at Pulang Lupa. Neither writer of this report has examined
these logs except the summaries included herein (Appendix B).
4. Photographs of drill sites at Kay Tanda are retained by Mindoro’s wholly owned Philippine
subsidiary in its Manilla office. Copies of these photographs may be obtained from Mindoro on
request.

8. KAY TANDA RESOURCE ESTIMATE

8.1 General Statement

The resource estimate given below is derived mostly from data obtained by Chase
Minerals Ltd. (“Chase”) from a reverse circulation drilling programme at Archangel in 1996
and from summaries of WMC diamond drilling, of which both data sets were provided by
Mindoro.
N.B. While the Chase data has been confirmed through examination of
laboratory records and drill hole locations in the field (Section 7), there is no record of
blanks, replicates or standards that may be used to estimate analytical accuracy or
precision of the analytical data, other than laboratory standards that are routinely used
by the laboratory to measure instrument performance. In addition, there are no data
with respect to the specific gravity of the ore and, thus, the resource estimate given below
cannot be used as a reliable indication of possible tonnage and grade that may exist at
Kay Tanda.
While the writers consider that the results are as stated, i.e. sampling and analytical
procedures conformed to industry standards and the analytical results used herein reflect gold
distributions that are not atypical of the type of prospect considered herein (however, see
Section 8.4), no further statement can be made as to the veracity of the data.
It is emphasized that this is only an “inferred resource” estimate as defined by the
Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum ( CIM Standards on Mineral
Resources and Reserves Definition Guidelines, CIM Council, August 2000).

8.2 Database
The data on which the resource estimate is based are mainly the results of reverse
circulation drilling by Chase. All analytical results of the nine reverse circulation drill holes
completed by Chase at Kay Tanda are included as Appendix A. In this appendix analytical
results from the oxidized zone are featured in red type while results from samples collected
from beneath the oxide zone are black. Summary drill sections (supplied by Mindoro) of the
Chase drill holes are included as Appendix C. The thickness of the oxide zone is derived from
drill sections prepared by Chase and which were supplied to the writer by Mindoro. These
sections are not included herein but may be viewed at the office of Mindoro in Edmonton.
WMC diamond drilling results were supplied to the writer (DGB) in summary form
only (Appendix B). The thickness of the oxide zone intersected in WMC drill holes (ARD
4a, 4b and 6) is not noted in the summary and has been extrapolated by the writer from
adjacent reverse circulation holes. Gold and silver grades of the extrapolated oxide zone of

WMC’s drilling are taken as those given by WMC in its summary.

8.3 Estimation Procedure

Since complete data are only available from the Chase drilling programme (Appendix
A), only those data are used in deriving the statistical parameters of the estimate. Because
only 12 widely-spaced drill holes have tested Kay Tanda it is not considered that a
geostatistical method of resource estimation would offer any advantages over the method used,
that of estimation by polygon construction. Since the oxide zone at Kay Tanda is of relatively
shallow dip and which, more or less, reflects the plateau nature of the topography in which the
oxide zone occurs, and that sulphide mineralization also appears to dip only shallowly,
polygons were constructed in plan rather than section - a function also of the fact that any
planar section through Kay Tanda cannot include anymore than three drill holes. Polygons
were conventionally constructed by drawing normals to connecting lines at the half-distance
between adjacent drill holes. The area of each polygon was measured and multiplied by the
thicknesses of the oxide and sulphide zones as indicated by the drill hole defining each
polygon. Tonnages were estimated by multiplying volumes by an assumed specific gravity
of 2.5g/cc since no specific gravity measurements appear to be have taken. The value of
2.5g/cc is typical of a quartz-rich rock although abundant clay can reduce this value. Beneath
the oxidized zone host rock is silicified andesite and the value of 2.5g/cc is probably
representative of this rock type.

8.4 Gold Distribution

A histogram derived from Chase’s data displays two, or possibly three, populations
of gold values (Figure 6) and which are reflected in a cumulative frequency plot of gold values
(Figure 7). Distributions of this nature commonly reflect disseminated mineralization plus
vein- or veinlet-hosted gold in the epithermal environment but no geological observations with
respect to the various possibilities of gold distribution appear to be have been made. This is
discussed in Section 9.
While the overall grade is quite low and is distributed about a mean of only 0.31g/t,
one standard deviation above the mean is 0.86g/t. The coefficient of variation, is, therefore,
about 2.7 and which indicates, apart from a strongly skewed population in the positive
direction, that there are number of high erratic values that do not conform to a usual lognormal
distribution.
Without detailed geological and mineralogical studies it is impossible in a report of
this type to make any statement as to the nature of these populations. It is possible that a
background, or very low grade population represents gold that was deposited along with the

enclosing silica alteration, i.e. it represents hypogene mineralization, that a second population
represents supergene enrichment of such gold and that a third population represents gold that
occurs within veinlets within the zone of silicification. However, at this stage such a
conclusion must be considered as speculative.
It is for the reasons outlined above as well as the wide spacing of the drill holes and the
lack of geological information as to controls of gold distribution, that the estimate herein can
only be stated as an inferred resource and with considerable qualification.

8.5 Gold Cut-off Grade

In an inferred global resource estimate, the application of a cut-off grade is largely
irrelevant. However, in this study a cut-off of 0.2g/t was applied because of the following.
1. The deposit is of low grade in terms of gold and by combining all data,
background gold values would also be included - with their attendant lack of precision and
accuracy
2. At low overall gold grades analytical precision may be poor and, because of the
lack of information relating to accuracy and precision of gold analyses, it was considered that
200 ppb represents a value that may be reproduced analytically within acceptable limits,
unlike lower values where precision commonly decreases with decreasing grade. This
“precision limit” is decreasing every year with increased analytical sophistication but, in this
case, and especially considering that standard and blank samples do not seem to have been
included in the Kay Tanda sample batch, a cutoff is applied.
3. A majority of gold grades are below 0.15g/t (Figure 6). While the overall shape
of the gold distribution curve (Figure 7) generally reflects a lognormal distribution, a
distribution common to most gold deposits, at low gold values such a curve may be better
described as a band that reflects the possibility of increasing analytical error and decreasing
precision. The width of this band increases with decreasing gold (or other metals) values.
Note, however, that WMC’s data are at a 0.3 g/t gold cut-off. Because of the
relatively small tonnages of those blocks about holes ARD-4a, 4b and 6, this higher cut-off
does not significantly affect the grade estimate.

8.6 Geological Model on which the Resource Estimate is Based

The model on which the resource estimate given below is based, in general terms, is
that of an epithermal precious metal deposit of which the upper parts lie within the shallowly-
dipping supergene oxidized part of a zone of silicification that was developed from acid
hypogene solutions derived from a cooling magma at depth. The geometry and extent of the

hypogene alteration zone(s) is unknown. Although it is considered herein that oxidation

probably is a function of supergene processes, it is not known whether these processes relate
to tropical weathering or whether they are related to meteoric water circulation. Nonetheless,
because of the relatively shallowly-dipping nature of the zone of oxidation, its limited
thickness and its proximity to the current surface, it is considered more likely that deep
tropical weathering caused the oxidation rather than circulating meteoric waters in a cooling
epithermal system.
The sulphide zone is assumed to be shallowly dipping to the east but tabular and
possibly cut by a northeasterly-striking, steeply-dipping fault that can be interpreted to pass
through the centre of the Kay Tanda prospect. Although there are a number of other
geometric interpretations possible from the existing drill hole data, the above is the most
simple and adequately explains the distribution of mineralization.
The limits of the estimated oxide resource given herein are possibly defined by the
modern topography. Thus, the outer limits of the area for which the resource is estimated are
described, more or less, by the topographic contours, from the 280m ASL contour in the west
to about the 220m - 240m contour in the east (Figure 8). The outer boundaries of outside
polygons are, therefore, arbitrarily limited by topography. Interpreted contours of the
thickness of the oxide zone are given in Figure 8. The sulphide zone(s) probably extends
further to the east than the oxide zone since the eastern extension of the latter has possibly
been removed by erosion. However, for the purpose of the resource estimate herein, the extent
of sulphide mineralization is taken as corresponding to the limits of oxide mineralization.

8.7 Resource Estimate

Table 1 gives the estimates of grade and tonnage of each polygon described in Figure
8. Two estimates are of oxide mineralization are given; i) of the entire area including that of
polygon 6 based on drill hole CA-4 in which total grade of 0.2 g/t gold or greater was not
obtained (taking the principle that assay sections must carry their own weight) and, therefore,
was assigned a grade of 0 g/t, and ii) leaving out that polygon from the estimate. The estimate
of gold with sulphide mineralization does not include blocks 7 and 10 in which no
mineralization appears to have been intersected beneath the oxide layer
The assumptions made in these estimates are;
i) the specific gravity of mineralized material is assumed to be 2.5 g/cc;
ii) the thickness of the oxide zone in diamond drill holes ARD-4, 4a and 6 is assumed
be the average of the oxide zone thickness in neighbouring reverse circulation drill holes;
iii) the grade of holes ARD-4, 4a and 6 is taken as zero from the surface to the depth
of first reported mineralization as stated in the summary provided by WMC (see Appendix B);

B A IL E Y G E O L O G IC A L C O N S U LT A N T S (C A N A D A) LT D .
Page 24 Mindoro Resources Ltd: Archangel Project - Kay Tanda Prospect

thus the grade for each hole is weighted to reflect this apparent lack of precious metals where
unreported in the summary data;
iv) silver grades are assumed to be as stated and, despite an abnormally high value in
Block 7 (ARD-6), values are not cut: this does not significantly influence the total estimated
grade because of the small tonnage in this block but the reader should aware that the silver
grades given herein may be higher than the true grade;
v) it is assumed that reverse circulation drill hole data correlate with diamond drill
hole data as, owing to the lack of data from diamond drill holes, it is not possible to apply a
factor that can reconcile reverse circulation drill hole data with diamond drill hole data;
commonly, reverse circulation gold values are lower than twinned diamond drill hole data,
especially in the case of fine-grained gold particles that may not be completely collected via
a cyclone.

about 17,000,000 tonnes at a grade of 0.68 g/t gold and 2.48 g/t silver (at a 0.2 g/t gold cut-
off). This equates to a total gold resource of about 370,000 ounces plus silver.
N.B. These values must be treated in the context in which they are stated. The
lack of constraints on the data make these estimates extremely approximate.

9. DISCUSSION

9.1 General Statement

As is common in any initial examination of epithermal precious metal deposits, it is
often difficult to categorize a deposit without some knowledge of its structure and alteration
assemblages. The following brief discussion provides a model that may guide future
exploration. In addition, comments are made as to quality control that should be adhered to
if further resource or reserve definition is contemplated. Comment is also made with respect
to Pulang Lupa to the west of Kay Tanda (see Figure 5 for location), a prospect in the
geological setting as Kay Tanda.

9.2 Exploration Model

Work to date at Kay Tanda has been confined to drilling of a limited area within a
much larger area that exhibits anomalous gold in soils (Figure 5). Drilling has confirmed the
presence of gold enrichment in bedrock and the present study suggests that a significant gold
resource may be present. It is also clear that potential exists for the discovery of additional
tonnages at Kay Tanda to the east of the area considered in this report.
It appears that the oxide zone slopes gently to the east and that both thickness and
grade increase in this direction (Figure 9). If, as discussed above, the zone of silicification and
oxide mineralization is a surficial supergene feature developed from tropical weathering and
near-surface meteoric waters, its current extent may be a function of recent erosion and
constrained by topography. In other words, high-standing parts of the topography still have
“silica caps” while topographically lower, more deeply eroded areas, have lost the upper
silicified zone through erosion if, indeed the zone was developed in lower areas. This is very
common in tropical regions, or regions of rapid erosion, where silicified rocks are relatively
erosion resistant while surrounding clay-rich zones quickly degrade topographically to much
lower levels.
However, if the topography exhibited today is more or less controlled by earlier
structural features, i.e. northeasterly- and northwesterly-trending faults (see Section 6.3) then
it is feasible that silicified zones exist at lower structural and topographic levels that have not
yet been tested by drilling. The 50 ppb soil gold contour (Figure 4) suggests that this may be
the case but since that contour closely follows topographic contours, the possibility of down-
slope gold dispersion cannot be ignored. Nevertheless, since old gold workings at Archangel
are aligned in a northeasterly direction, as are veins at Lobo to the west of Archangel, and
grade at Kay Tanda appears to increase to the east, it is suggested that the conduit up which
hydrothermal solutions flowed to give rise to the precious metal mineralization at Kay Tanda

B A IL E Y G E O L O G IC A L C O N S U LT A N T S (C A N A D A) LT D .
Page 28 Mindoro Resources Ltd: Archangel Project - Kay Tanda Prospect

was also a northeasterly-striking fault located, perhaps, to the east of the area drilled to date
although northeasterly-striking faults may also be interpreted to cut through the prospect area.
A geometric interpretation of sulphide mineralization at Kay Tanda is difficult to
make at this stage but, from drilling to date, a model of sulphide zones dipping moderately to
the east may be inferred and which is the model adopted herein for resource estimation. On
the other hand, other interpretations are possible and further work is necessary to define the
structure of the prospect area and the distribution of mineralization beneath the oxide zone
before a more definitive geological model can be drawn.
It is expected that the geological conditions that control precious metal mineralization
at Kay Tanda also apply to Pulang Lupa to the west of Kay Tanda. While only one reverse
circulation drill hole intersected significant gold mineralization here, the diamond holes drilled
by Western Mining Corporation were much more encouraging (Appendix B) and suggest that
Pulang Lupa may contain similar grades and tonnages to Kay Tanda.

9.3 Quality Control

Drilling results obtained to date suffer from the lack of data on which to estimate the
quality of the results. In other words, standards and blanks do not appear to have been
employed and, consequently, no statement can be made herein with respect to accuracy and
precision of those results. If any further drilling is to be carried out at Kay Tanda two or three
holes should twin Chase drill holes and a relationship established (if any) between Chase data
and the new drill data. If good correlation can be established between the two sets of data and
the new data are properly quantified in terms of accuracy and precision, Chase’s results may
be incorporated in any future resource or reserve estimates.
If there is poor correlation between the two data sets it is likely that Chase’s data will
have to be discarded in favour of data that is properly constrained. Proper procedures in
quality control are given by Sinclair and Blackwell (2002) and Smee (1997).
It appears that drilling at Kay Tanda and Pulang Lupa was carried out to standards
typically employed in North America and Australia during exploration and the writers have
no reason to doubt the reliability of the results. Nonetheless, these results can only be viewed
as semiquantitative and while adequate in providing an approximation of a global resource,
should not be used in reserve estimates until the results can be quantified in terms of analytical
error (i.e. analytical precision and accuracy).
