RIBBON EMBROIDERY
1) Embroider a ribbon rose on two different cushion cover with analogous colour scheme
such that the two colours of ribbon used should be complementing the colour of the
sofa.
2) Create a landscape out of ribbon embroidery and convert it into a wall décor.
3) Embroider the given motif using ribbons.

4) draw a butterfly, and embroider with ribbons, use


the split complementary colour scheme for the butterfly motif
5) make a colour wheel of ribbons on fabric or cardboard. describe four colour schemes
using swatches of ribbons.
6) Take a garment of your choice, motif of your choice and embroider it with ribbons.
List out all the specifications while selecting the fabric, motif and ribbons for ribbon
embroidery.
7) Design a neck piece by making flowers and leaves using ribbons. You can add any other
embellished pieces to enhance the look of neck piece.

SMOCKING

1) Make cushion covers using smocking where the smocking area is only in the centre part of
the cushion cover. Draw the pattern used for the cushion cover on paper.
2) Design a window curtain and do the smocking where gathers are required.

3) Make a waist belt using smocking. Use beads or any other embellishments for enhancing the
look.
4) Explain and List out with pictures, the placement for gathered smocking in a garment.
5) Make 6 swatches of different smocking techniques, and list out which fabric is suitable for
the corresponding smocking technique.
6) Make a drawstring bag using any smocking technique. Give the dimensions and fabric used,
And pattern of the technique used.
