Heroes Monument, also known as Tugu Pahlawan, is located in Surabaya. It is a landmark of the
city, built on 10th November 1951 and inaugurated a year later by the first President of Republic of
Indonesia, Ir. Soekarno.

When you think of penguins, you may picture them surrounded by snow and ice. However, there is
one species of penguin yhat is acclimated to warmer climates. African penguins live in colonies on the
coast and islands of southern Africa.
African penguins are also called jackass penguins. They make braying sounds to communicate.
They can dive under water for up to 2.5 minutes while trying to catch small fish such as anchovies and
sardines. They also eat squid and crustaceans.
They average about 60cm (2ft.) in height and weight up to 3.6kg (8lb.). Their short tails and
flippers help them navigate in water, while their webbed feet help propel them. They are covered in
dense and waterproof feathers to keep dry and insulated in water. These feathers are white on the belly
and black on the back, which help camouflage them. Their white bellies blend with the light when
predators look up at them from below and their black backs meld with the darker seas when predators
look down on them from above.
They can live for 10-15 years, but several of them do not reach their full life span. Their
populations have been steadily declining due to the loss of nesting places, decrease of food, overfishing
and pollution.

How to Make Banana Bread

Ingredients:
• 2-3 very ripe bananas, peeled
• 1/3 cup melted butter
• ½ cup of sugar (can use ¾ cup or ½ cup for less sweet)
• 1 egg, beaten
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• Pinch of salt
• 11/2 cups of all-purpose flour

Methods:
1. Preheat the oven to 350oF (175oC) and butter in a 4x8-inch loaf pan.

the mashed bananas and stir.
