No Red Ink Assignment Sets for Quarter One

Grammar Practice for Quarter 1 is at your own pace, as long as all deadlines are met.

Expectations for Quarter 1:


● All Practice assignments must be completed to 100%.
● All Assignment sets are due on Tuesdays before midnight.
● Any Quizzes completed at less than a 60% must be redone with a pen-and-paper quiz. You
may quiz on Grammar Assignments:
➢ On grammar skills days
➢ During your study hall (if Ms. Chiarkas does not have a class)
➢ Before or after school, if arranged with Ms. Chiarkas ahead of time
➢ During your lunch, if arranged ahead of time and Ms. Chiarkas is available
➢ During any extra in-class work time IF you have already submitted the assignment we are
working on that day

Grading for Quarter 1:


Done on time with all Practices completed to a 100% and the quiz at 80% or better = 11/10
Done on time with all Practices completed to a 100% and the quiz completed below 80% = 10/10

Done LATE with all Practices completed to a 100% and the quiz at 80% or better = 9/10
Done LATE with all Practices completed to a 100% and the quiz completed below 80% = 8/10

If an assignment set does not contain a quiz, grades will be 22/20 if on time and 16/20 if done late.

How to Complete Assignment Sets in No Red Ink:


● Go in numerical order each week : 1, 2, 3, 4, Quiz
● After you click “Begin,” READ THROUGH THE LESSON FIRST. Even if you know this skill,
reading through the lesson before you begin is important to refresh your mind.
● After reading through the lesson, click PRACTICE.
● Oftentimes your practice will begin with a tutorial. Pay close attention to these. Each NRI
Practice Assignment asks you to complete it in a different way: choosing between two (or more)
clickable options, drag-and-drop, typing answers from scratch, removing things from a sentence,
etc.
● As you work through the Practice Assignments, you can revisit the lesson when you are
struggling. Take advantage of this. You can also ask you peers or teacher for help.
● If you need to stop your work before an Assignment is completed, please stop right after you
have earned a STAR so your progress is saved correctly.
● Keep track of your own progress on this checklist and try to work ahead whenever possible.
