Job Analysis of Tailoring Shop (based on Spectral Management Theory)

The spectral management theory, goes beyond the idea of traditional job analysis exercise. This theory
is based on the idea that managerial jobs can’t be described in specific terms, and this approach
implies that roles, attitudes, kinds of behavior of managerial jobs can be represented in spectral
management theory. This theory states that there are eight kinds of managers. It is based on the three
characteristics: cognitive (C), affective (A), behavioral (B). If the characteristic in the person in
dominant it is represented by a capital letter, if it is recessive, it is represented by small case letter.
Thus, we have eight categories, like CAB – innovative managers, Cab – development manager etc. On
the basis of our analysis of tailoring shop job, we arrive at a tailor is action manager. His dominant
characteristic is behavior, and recessive characteristic is cognitive and affective. Thus, he is action
manager – caB.
