Prestressed Show Deformed Mesh

The goal of this ACT extension is to display the deformed mesh in


prestressed modal & harmonic analysis.

ACT: Application Customization Toolkit
ACT allows customization in the Mechanical application :
• Replace command snippets with interactive objects
• Create customized Loads / BCs
• Create customized Results
• Ability to connect a third party solver in a standard Workbench process

ACT LP Show Deformed Mesh extension is a customization made with ACT


to show the deformed mesh in linear perturbation modal or harmonic
analysis in Mechanical. The extension consists of one XML file (Configures
the UI content) and one python script (Implements the extension
functionality).

Installing ACT Extensions
Installing from WB Project page:

1. Select the “Install Extension …” option


2. It will open a file dialog to select a “*.wbex” file
3. The extension is installed

LP Show Deformed Mesh Extension

• “Store Base Mesh” object is inserted in the upper


part of the tree and is used to store the
undeformed mesh nodes locations.
• “Prestressed Deformed Mesh” object is inserted in
the downstream analysis and is used to store the
deformed mesh nodes location.
• Once the two objects are generated the displayed
mesh is updated depending on the selected analysis
in the tree.
