DARJEELING- It is famously known as the “Queen of the Hills” and is one of the most beautiful hill stations of
India. The cool climate of Darjeeling provides a delightfully different experience from most other parts of India.
In 1835, Darjeeling was given to the East India Company by the King of Sikkim. The real fun in coming to
Darjeeling is on the toy train. It takes six to seven hours to cover a distance of 82 kms and the slow speed gives
you enough time to watch and appreciate the beauty which nature has provided it. This train passes through
the Forests, waterfalls, over deep valleys and through the mountains and tunnels. Darjeeling has plenty of
tourist spots in and around the city. Tiger hill is the highest point in the area which provides the most exotic
view of the Kanchenjunga peaks. The city is centered around the Mall which has a variety of shops, restaurants
and hotels. Beautiful walk ways start from the Mall.

4:00 a.m. – Sunrise on Tiger Hill is renowned for grand view of the Kanchenjunga and the other
Himalayan peaks. All the efforts is worthwhile especially if you get a clear weather. On the return to
Darjeeling, we cover 2 scenic points – Batasia Loop and Ghoom Monastery.

TIGER HILL SUNRISE POINT is the summit of Ghoom, the highest railway station on the Darjeeling Himalayan
Railway – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is famous for the panoramic views it offers of Mount Everest along
with Kangchenjunga. The first rays of the sun shoot ahead and shed light upon the twin peaks
of Kangchenjunga painting it pink and then bathing it in a beautiful orange colour. From Tiger Hill, Mount
Everest (8848m) is just visible, peeping out through two other peaks standing by its side.
BATASIA LOOP situated almost 5 km away from the town is a gigantic railway loop where the Toy Train makes
a 360 Degree turn. It was basically built to make it possible for the Toy Train to cut the deep ascend.
Strategically located the Batasia Loop offers a panoramic view of the Kanchanjunga Range.A War Memorial
constructed in the memory of the brave sons of the soil who laid down their lives in the different wars since
the independence of the nation adds to its attraction. There is also a well furbished market where visitors can
buy locally made purses, bags and other decorative items.

GHOOM MONESTRY Built in 1875 by Lama Sherab Gyatso, this ancient monastery is said to have been blessed
by the renowned Tomo Geshe Rimpoche of Tibet. The specialty of this monastery is that it contains the statue
of the 'Future Coming Buddha' known as Maitreye Buddha. The Monastery has also preserved some of the
rare handwritten Buddhist manuscripts. You could visit the monastery on your return journey to Darjeeling

respected endeavour for people in the region. With the impetus provided by the first prime minister of
India, Jawaharlal Nehru, HMI was established in Darjeeling. Tenzing Norgay was the first director of field
training for HMI.

and take you to all the points mentioned in the package.

would wait at the Taxi Stand after that.
The car service for the specific package is on contract basis as per tour details and not for full day. The
full day availability of car can also be arranged on request with additional cost.
Due to high traffic restrictions in the hill stations (mainly in Darjeeling and Gangtok) the drivers remain
under pressure. They can not stop on the road while driving through the city or can not go to certain
places even if desired by the tourists. In the hill towns the car parking places are very limited. In some
hotels cars are not allowed to go. Although we have selected such hotels where the car has a direct
access, but the same can be changed following sudden traffic rule imposition in some specific time. In
such cases our driver will take you to the nearest taxi stand and help you to reach hotel. We request
you to kindly understand these issues and cooperate with the drivers and maintain the timings.
