Multiplication Facts Cheat Sheet 0 - 10

0: Anything multiplied by zero is zero

Example: 0 x 8 = 0

1:Anything multiplied by 1 is itself.

Example: 1 x 5 = 5

2: When you multiply a number by two, your answer is double the number.
Example: 2 x 4 = 8

5: Skip counting by 5’s and all answers will end in a 5 or 0

Example: 5 x 6 → 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 → 5 x 6 = 30

10: Skip count by 10’s, all answers will end in 0

Example: 10 x 4 → 10, 20, 30, 40 → 10 x 4 = 40

4: Use your 2’s facts to help. If you are multiplying by 4, start by multiplying by 2 then double that
answer.
Example: 4 x 5→ 2 x 5 = 10→ 10 + 10 = 20 → 4 x 5 = 20

8: Use your 4’s facts to help. When you multiply by 8, start by multiplying by 4 then double the
answer.
Example: 8 x 6→ 4 x 6 = 24 → 24 + 24 = 48 → 8 x 6 = 48

9: Use 10’s facts to help. Anything times 9, can be found by multiplying that number by 10 and
subtract itself.
Example: 9 x 7 → 10 x 7 = 70 → 70 → 70 - 7 = 63, 9 x 7 = 63

3: Use 2’s facts to help. A number times 3, can be solved by doubling, plus itself.
Example: 3 x 4→ 2 x 4 = 8 → 8 + 4 = 12 → 3 x 4 = 12

6: Use 3’s facts to help. A number times 6 can be solved by finding the number times 3 then doubled.
Example: 6 x 8 → 3 x 8 = 24 → 24 + 24 = 48→ 6 x 8 = 48

7: 7’s facts have no easy trick, other than using 6’s facts plus one, or 8’s facts minus one.
*Hint* you can use fact strategy for the other factor to solve 7’s facts.

Example: 7 x 5→ 6 x 5 = 30 → 30 + 5 = 35 → 7 x 5 = 35
Example 7 x 5→ 8 x 5 = 40 → 40 - 5 = 35 → 7 x 5 = 35
