Lesson-Plan - Impulse Control

This second grade lesson plan aims to help students gain insight into managing their impulses and helping others manage theirs. Teachers will read the book "My Mouth is a Volcano" to students and have them fill out a worksheet reflecting on how the story's character struggles with impulse control relates to them. Students will then discuss impulse control goals for themselves and the class, writing their individual goals on post-its to add to an anchor chart. A week later, students will check-in about their progress on their impulse control goals and how the teacher can provide support.
