Policy Statement

IMS Manual

IM 3.0 – Integrated Policy

It is the policy of the organisation to provide a range of products and services which meet the
requirements of its customers, regulatory requirements using best practicable methods and
quality standard parameters within a safe and healthy environment as a minimum. All processes
are carried out in a cost effective and timely manner, and in accordance with the highest
professional standards aiming for continual improvement and customer satisfaction through the
involvement and participation of all levels of Personnel and other interested parties.

To meet this commitment the organisation has documented, implemented and will maintain an
Integrated Management System which sets out to satisfy or exceed the requirements of BS EN
ISO 9001:2000, BS EN ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:1999 ensuring that it has the
resources needed and the contribution of suppliers and partners.

The prime objective is providing a quality product and service through an adequately controlled
management system and the adoption of a process approach. In order to achieve this we will:

 Ensure that all our employees adhere to our Integrated Management System
 Maintain a good relationship with all interested parties through effective communication
 Minimise the risk of causing pollution
 Minimise accidents, incidents and non-conformance
 Train, develop and communicate with our employees in order to meet business needs
 Make use of best practice when planning and developing new and existing operations
 Review the Integrated Management System to determine its effectiveness and ensure
continual improvement.

The Directors have agreed the objectives in line with this policy which are communicated,
understood and implemented at appropriate levels in the organisation.

This policy is approved by the undersigned and is supported by all Personnel within the
organisation, displayed in prominent places and reviewed at the management review meeting for
suitability and effectiveness addressing continual improvement and customer satisfaction.

IM 4.0 Quality Policy

It is the policy of the organisation to provide a range of products and services which meet the
requirements of its customers, and quality standard parameters, and that work is completed on
schedule at the agreed price.All processes are carried out in a cost effective and timely manner,
and in accordance with the highest professional standards aiming for continual improvement and
customer satisfaction through the involvement and participation of all levels of Personnel and
other interested parties.
To meet this commitment the Organisation has documented, implemented and will maintain a
Quality Management System which sets out to meet the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001:2000,
ensuring that it has the resources needed and the contribution of suppliers and partners.

and understand this policy and are trained as necessary in their personal responsibilities within
the system and records maintained.

reviewed annually and amended as necessary.

This policy is approved by the undersigned and is supported by all Personnel within the
organisation, displayed in prominent places and reviewed at the management review meeting for
suitability and effectiveness addressing continual improvement and customer satisfaction.

IM 5.0 Environmental Policy

It is the policy of the organisation to achieve best standards of Environmental Performance in


order to minimise the Environmental impact of our products and processes and thereby promote
sustainability.

This will be achieved by our commitment to:

 Comply with all existing and new environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
 Systematically identify and regularly review the Company’s environmental aspects and
impacts and prioritise these in order to set environmental objectives and targets
 Continually improve our environmental performance by implementing initiatives to
prevent pollution, to utilise energy and resources effectively, to minimise and dispose of
waste products in a reasonable manner.
 Raise environmental awareness of all our employees to ensure our policies and
procedures are followed and have minimal environmental impact.
 Work in partnership with our suppliers, contractors, customers, neighbours and any other
relevant external bodies as far as possible to maximise the effectiveness of our policy.
 Ensure that prime consideration is given to new products and processes to minimise
environmental impacts.
 Periodically reviewing the effectiveness of this Policy and communicate to everyone
within the company and make available to the public and other interested parties.

The Directors have agreed these objectives in line with this policy which are communicated,
understood and implemented at appropriate levels in the organisation. These objectives will be
reviewed annually and amended as necessary.

Environmental Management System which sets out to meet the requirements of BS EN ISO
14001:2004.
This policy is approved by the undersigned and is supported by all Personnel within the
organisation, displayed in prominent places and reviewed at the management review meeting for
suitability and effectiveness.

IM 6.0 Health & Safety Policy

 Hi-Tech Steel Services Ltd believes that one of its most important functions is the
prevention of accidents and ill health. We do not wish any of our employees or any other
person to suffer as the result of activities or work processes. To this end, we intend to
comply rigorously with all health and safety legislation, Codes of Practice and best
guidance and work methods available.
 The health and safety policy and manuals we have prepared indicate the ways in which
Hi-Tech Steel Services Ltd intends to meet with legal requirements.
 Legislation requires that, as an employer, we prepare a statement of general policy with
respect to the health and safety of our employees, together with details of the
organization and arrangements that we have set up to carry out the policy.

Therefore, we provide, so far as is reasonably practicable:

 A safe system of work


 Safe plant and equipment
 Safe means of handling, transporting articles, substances and people
 Adequate training, instruction, information and supervision
 A safe place of work with safe access and egress
 A safe and healthy environment
 Adequate welfare facilities
 We also ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, that the way we carry out our work does
not affect the health and safety of persons who are not our employees, for example,
visitors and contractors
 It is also recognized that where we produce articles and substances for use at work, or we
erect or install any plant or equipment, we have duty to ensure the health and safety of
those who use them and make available all the required information for their health and
safety.

We remind you, our employees, of your duty to look after your own health and safety and ensure
that you do not endanger others and that you must co-operate with us, as your employer, in
meeting our legal obligations.

To meet this commitment the Organisation has documented, implemented and will maintain an
Environmental Management System which sets out to meet the requirements of OHSAS
18001:1999.

This Policy is approved by the undersigned and is supported by all Personnel within the
organisation, displayed in prominent places and reviewed at the management review meeting for
suitability and effectiveness.
