Words in column 1 are called adjectives: they describe things.

We use the comparative form (column 2) to compare two things (or two groups of things).
 short adjectives: we add “-er” at the end
 long adjectives: we use “more” before it
Remember: We use “THAN” after the comparative!

We use the superlative form (column 3) to say that a thing has a superior quality compared
to others.
 short adjectives: we add “-est” at the end
 long adjectives: we use “most” before it

Remember: We use “THE” before the superlative!

Exceptions: some adjectives have irregular forms:
