A05006 SBG Broth Base Final

This document provides instructions for using SBG Broth Base, a selective medium for isolating Salmonella bacteria. The medium is made by suspending dehydrated powder and sodium selenite in water, heating it to 100°C for 10 minutes without autoclaving, then distributing it into test tubes. Specimens such as feces are inoculated and incubated at 37°C for 18-24 hours. Cultures are then plated on a selective medium to confirm the presence of Salmonella. The medium inhibits certain bacteria but permits the growth of Salmonella, though some Salmonella strains may not grow well in it. The product should be stored dry and cool to prevent discoloration.
