SECTION – A ( 6× 1 = 6 )

1. Given that L.C.M. of (150,100) = 300, find H.C.F. (150,100).

2. Is x = 2 a zero of polynomial x3 – x2 – x + 1?
3. For what value of k, are the roots of the quadratic equation: kx 2 + 4x + 1 = 0 equal and real?

4. Find the next term of the A.P. √2, √8, √18,………..


5. Find the distance between the points (cos𝜃, -sin𝜃) , (- cos𝜃, sin𝜃).
6. Write the value of sin2 60˚ + sin2 21˚.

SECTION – B ( 6× 2 = 1 2 )
7. Find the sum of the first 40 positive integers divisible by 6 .

8. A box contains cards numbered 11 to 123 . A card is drawn at random from the box . Find the
probability that the number on drawn card is an square number and a multiple of 7 .
9. A box contains 12 balls of which some red in colour .If 6 more red balls are put in the box and a
ball is drawn at random, the probability of drawing a red ball doubles than what it was before.
Find the number of red balls in the bag.
10. Find the values of k if the quadratic equations 3x2 –k√3 𝑥 + 4 = 0 ℎ𝑎𝑠 𝑒𝑞𝑢𝑎𝑙 𝑟𝑜𝑜𝑡𝑠.
11. Find the values of k for which the pair of linear equations k x + k y =k²and x + k y =1 have
infinitely many solutions.
12. If the mid-point of the line joining ( 3, 4 ) and ( 13, 7 ) is ( x, y ) and 2 x + 2 y + 1 = 0, find the
value of k.
SECTION – C ( 10×3 = 30 )
13. Prove that in two concentric circles, the chord of the larger circle, which touches the smaller circle, is
bisected at the point of contact.

14. In a quadrilateral ABCD, B = 900 . If AD2 = AB2 + BC2 + CD2, prove that  ACD  900 .

15. On dividing a polynomial p(x)= x 3 – 3 x 2 + x + 2 by another polynomial g(x) ,the quotient


and the remainder were x – 2 and – 2 x + 4 respectively , find g(x).
16. Find the HCF of 420 and 272 by Euclid`s algorithm.
17. Prove that √5 𝑖𝑠 𝑎𝑛 𝑖𝑟𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑎𝑙 .
18. Yash scored 40 marks in a test getting 3 marks for each right answer and losing 1 mark for
each wrong answer . Had 4 marks been awarded for each correct answer and 2 marks been
deducted for each incorrect answer, then Yash would have scored 50 marks . How many
questions were there in the test?
19. Find the median of the following data.

tendency.
