This is the blog I set up for my kids to post reflections last

year. I teach Anatomy and Physiology through the lens of
health and wellness so many of my assignments are
challenges to improve your health and reflect over that
challenge. I will start a new one for this years students.

Students also have their own blog as an ongoing portfolio.

I think of my class blog as mostly parent-focused, with

homework, suggested activities, photos and videos from
the day to try and give parents a feel for what and how their
children are learning with me. I also link to a separate blog
which is entirely student written. Those blogs provide an
opportunity for me to teach online etiquette, and for the
students to write for an authentic audience from around the
world with teacher moderation.

We use our blog to showcase student work,

keep friends and parents updated on what is
happening and celebrate our classroom and
school achievements. Our blog is edited by our
students so it helps them practice their writing,
grammar, editing and word choice. The
ClustrMap shows the students that their work is
being viewed by a world-wide audience.

I use the blog section of my website for

books they are reading. They can also
nominate books for our state Reading award.
Last year they did this through our librarian's

I have not used it yet, but am planning to when

school starts this year. I am planning to provide
links to videos for students to watch, post
homework, provide in class activities, collect
information using google forms for in class
assessment purposes, provide daily/weekly
information to parents and students. More work

I actually have two school blogs and all of my advanced art students have their
own blogs. So there are 44 blogs coming out of my room.

The one I attached is the one I use to show artwork to parents and I have
attached all of the student blogs to that page so that parents have access to
them.

My other blog is just for my Art 1 class. On that blog I put up pictures and
stories about art and artists and have my Art 1 students leave comments about
the posts. It has been a great way to get them talking about art and what they
like and dislike about certain pieces. It has also sparked some ideas for
projects and things that they would like to try.

My classroom blog's purpose is twofold. It is a

way to give information to my students, and a
way to connect with our parents. If the students
need information, they know how to use the site
to get it. The parents can go to the site to get
information, see photos of their kids, and view
their projects.

I use kidblog with my students. On my page I post the homework and blogging
assignments and then I let them use their pages however they want. I also use
the blog to teach digital literacy. It is my goal to review our blog posts, as well
as our comments, with the whole class as a way to highlight both good
examples and mistakes. I always ask the writer to critique his/her own blog
post/comments first and then ask if they would like critique from anyone else.
It's a great way to get the students discussing good writing as well as blogging
etiquette. As the year goes on we hook up with other classes around the world
and practice commenting. It's great fun to watch their blogging skills improve
right from the beginning.

Our class blog initially began as a place where students

could present their class and some homework, in different
ways, in an online space. We also use it for connecting with
other classrooms globally and for collaborations on different
projects. It has become a space where the students can

I have so many blogs in blogger for different purposes. I

have one for each of the fourth and fifth grade book clubs
and one for each of the fourth and fifth grade technology
classes. The one I pasted above is this year's fourth grade
technology class. The blog posts are written by the
students. Each week in Technology, the students rotate
jobs and the student that is the class blogger for the week,
blogs about what we did. We just got started last week so
it is not much yet but it will be soon.

We are a Belgian primary school. Our class is a

third year, with kids 8 to 9 years old. Our blog
mainly shows the events in the classroom. It is
intended towards the children as well as to their
parents (and other interested people). Children
are encouraged to write about what happened.
We call them blog reporters. As a reward for
writing an article they get a "no homework
voucher". I'm affraid the blog is in Dutch only …
