ABSTRACT

The Research study titled “A STUDY ON EMPLOYEE’S WELFARE MEASURES

AT SHRI BAGAVATHI KNITS, TIRUPUR” was conducted to find out stress in private and
government sector.

The main objective of the study is to know the various factors that stimulate stress level
among employees in private and government sector.

This survey is done within the organization. The sample size is 100. The data
wascollected by administering questionnaire and by adopting direct personal contact method.
The persons met are all employees of the concern.

Primary data collection was made through a questionnaire. Secondary data were collected
from the past records and through websites.

After data collection, tools used for the analysis were PERCENTAGE ANALYSIS,
CHI-SQUARE TEST, ANOVA and GARRETT RANKING.

From the analysis, it was found that Stress is not always dysfunctional in nature, and if
positive, can prove one of the most important factors in improving productivity within an
organization and to maintain a balance between career and family. If not positive, stress can
create a number of physical and psychological disorders among them, and can be responsible for
frustration, haste, job dissatisfaction and create imbalance between career and family.

The result shows that Private sector employees have relatively higher degree of stress as
compared with Government sector employees.
