1.1 IMPORTANT PRELIMINARY INFORMATION

The present chapter should be considered as a generic description of the basic, not customer specific
HTML Configuration Interface for all IER Terminals.
For this reason, this chapter presents a global approach to all the functions of the basic HTML
configuration interface (hyperlink icons, configuration parameters).
Depending on the Customer Application, there can be differences of the following type:
- on the Home page, the icons can be presented in a different order,
- certain parameters can be:
specific to a customer application
(such as mode configuration),
visible or not,
modifiable or not.
Depending on the type of IER Terminal and whether or not the IER Terminal features the Bagtag
and/or ATB format application, and/or other applications:
- certain icons of the Home page can be:
visible or not
- certain configuration parameters can be:
visible or not.

1.2 ACCESSING THE IER TERMINAL CONFIGURATION INTERFACE

Preliminary Steps: - Any recent internet browser can be used to set the configuration parameters of
the IER Terminal.
- First, you need to connect the IER Terminal to the Ethernet connector of a
computer using a crossover cable.
- On the computer, deactivate the automated assignment of IP addresses (DHCP)
function.
- To be able to establish the connection with the IER Terminal, you will have to
assign a static IP address to the computer. See below a short description of the
procedure:
1.2.1 Change the IP Address of the Computer
The default IP address of the IER Terminal is: 192.168.0.100 with the subnetwork mask:
255.255.255.0.
Access the Local Area Connection Properties

window on your computer:
a) Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP),
b) Select Properties.
In the Internet Protocol Properties (TCP/IP)

window:
a) Select the Use following IP address
option.
b) Type the IP address (e.g. 192.168.0.101)
and supply the subnetwork mask
(255.255.255.0)
Note: The specified IP address must belong
to the same (sub)network as that of
the IER Terminal.
c) Select OK.

1.2.2 Connect Yourself to the IER Terminal

a) Power up the IER Terminal and wait for the initialization sequence to be completed (takes
about 3 min.).
b) Type the IP address of the IER Terminal into the address field of your internet browser and
confirm. This causes the user identification page to be displayed.
Note: If this is not a valid address, it is due to one of the following reasons:
- Your IER Terminal has a specific address required by your application. In this case, contact
the department concerned in your company or your IER representative to obtain the specific
address.
- The address of the IER Terminal has been modified for an unknown reason.
In this case, send the IP command over the RS232 link to the terminal in order to obtain the
new fixed IP address.
You may also print out the BTP or ATB configuration coupon or the BTP or ATB Statistics
Coupon, (see page 13, Section Printing Test Documents).

Depending on your access rights, you may have access to the entire IER Terminal configuration
interface or only part of it.
There are three levels of identification depending on your specific access rights:
Level 0: Read rights for the standard IER Terminal parameters.
Level 1: Read rights for the standard IER Terminal parameters, configuration rights for data
connection characteristics (IP, USB, RS232), rights to reset the user resettable counter.
Level 2: Read and modification rights for all IER Terminal parameters.

The Home page provides you with the following information:
Information specific to the IER Terminal:
- Type (3)
- Serial number (4)
- Boot program reference number (5)
- Customer application reference number (6)
- IER Terminal IP address (7)
Information relative to the user:

IMPORTANT: User name (1) depending on the user access rights (see page 5).
A series of hyperlink icons with captions, e.g.:

- Icons (2) allowing complete IER Terminal configuration
- LOG OUT icon (8). Clicking this icon logs you off the configuration interface. If you log
out, you will have to identify yourself again to be able to access the Home page.
- HOME PAGE icon (9). Clicking this icon brings you back to the Home Page. You do not
have to identify yourself again.

1.3 IER TERMINAL CONFIGURATION INTERFACE

1.3.1 Description
The HTML configuration interface Home page displays a series of icons whose number
depends on your user rights. The icons feature a hyperlink. To access the related menu, simply
select the icon.
The table below shows all the icons that may appear on the Home page and specifies the
corresponding level of rights they require to be accessed.
Note: Although accessible, a menu may be read-only. In this case, the functions for modifying the
displayed parameters are visible but inoperative.
Level 2
- Configure the events (logs) filter
- Configure the Hardware Controller.
- Set the IER Terminal function parameters
(see page 10).
Level 0, 1, 2
- Access the event counter page (event types
such as errors, jams)
(see page 12).
Level 1, 2
- Print test documents (either Bag Tag
application or ATB (boarding pass)
application documents.)
Note: There are eight types of test
documents per application (Bag Tag

1.4 CONFIGURATION AND ADJUSTMENTS INTERFACE

1.4.1 General Description
The Configuration & Adjustments interface mainly allows the Level 1 and Level 2 users to filter
the events having occurred on the terminal and especially to determine specific areas where
certain events occur (Syst trace configuration).
This functionality is particularly useful for programmers, but can nevertheless help a well
experienced level 1 or 2 user who is troubleshooting an IER Terminal, to narrow down the
possible causes for a failure.
Through this interface, the level 1 and 2 users have also access to the following configuration
menus:
- Configue the Hardware Controller (Print engine configuration),
- for the Bag Tag application or the ATB application:
Setting the Application parameters (Application configuration"),
Setting the Protocol parameters (Protocol configuration),
Setting the Serial RS232 port parameters (Connection configuration).
The Application configuration, Protocol configuration and Connection configuration menus can
also directly be accessed from the configuration interface Home page (see page 28).

A maximum of 2000 lines (events) can thus be listed.
Several hyperlink buttons allow you to filter these events and to narrow down the number of

1.24.1 Accessing the AEA ATB Parameters Page

ATB application.
b) To access the ATB AEA parameters page,

select the ATB AEA parameters
hyperlink.
The AEA ATB parameters page is displayed with its hyperlink parameter menu:
- AEA emulation mode version (AEA revision)
