We Use The Past Simple

The document discusses how to use the past simple tense in English. It is used to talk about specific past actions that started and finished at a certain time, repeated or habitual past actions, and actions that occurred for long periods in the past. The structure of affirmative sentences in the past simple involves using "was/were" with the subject and complement or using the past form of regular and irregular verbs with the subject. Negative sentences use "wasn't/weren't" or the auxiliary "didn't" plus the infinitive verb form.
