ABSTRACT
Here our work specifies drive shaft for automotive vehicles. We generally substitute
a two different drive shaft being used for automobile applications. Our ultimate aim is
to minimize the entire mass of the existing drive shaft which is composite. More over
our main idea is to improve the recite of the present drive shaft. Hence we had an idea
to condense down the present mass of the driveshaft, which is composite in nature. The
basic principle as to why we have used is its property such as less in its weight, the
absorption of shock is very high, free from rust, multifaceted shapes can be produced,
and strength is much more compared to other general materials. Here we model the
entire shaft by means of Solid works. We design the shaft such that its strict design
requirement is naturally met. In most or general or in wide applications we use the
present shaft for transmitting the motion from the front engine to the rear differential.
Here in this particular work we estimate the various stresses which is primarily induced
to various loading and the natural frequencies by means of ANSYS. Our primary effort
is to produce a light weight drive shaft which is composite in nature.

1. INTRODUCTION
We know a shaft is a rotating member used for transmission of power from the front engine to
the rear differential. Drive shaft is to operate the angle between the transmission and the existing
axle. We use a high quality material which is of steel for construction purpose [1-9]. We make
a two piece for the complete construction. The materials which are of composite act as a shock
absorber and our study is to analyse the design in all cases.
2. PRINCIPLE OF WORKING
The drive shaft in general should be proficient for rotating the shaft at high speeds [10-15]. And
moreover it must run at varying angles between the communications as when the rear wheel is
to over roll on the road. The complete length is necessary and competent for changing during
transmission [16-20]. Due to bumping on the road the general movement is changed between
the rear differential and the front engine.

4. CONCLUSION
• By using composite material resulting in 30% as when comparing to other structured steel shaft
• Our work was aimed in reducing fuel utilization in all machine that has drive shaft.
