2014-2015 MODEL 1- Dialogue: I have a problem.

STUDENT A
You are having a coffee with your friend because you have some problems and
need to talk. You have problems sleeping and can’t concentrate at work. You
are always in a very bad mood and have arguments with your family.

STUDENT B
You are having a coffee with your friend because you have some problems and
need to talk. You need to lose weight and stop smoking before your brother’s
wedding.
Your friend also has problems, so listen to him /her and try to give some advice.

PLANNING
1. Plan your greeting: „Good to see you” / „You allright?” „How you doing?”
2. Do a little bit of small talk (familly, work...)
3. Go down to business: („You look a little bit under the weather” / „Are you
really ok?”
4. Explain your poblems (giving examples)
5. React: „You’re kidding.” / „I don’t believe it.” / „Really?”, „Oh, no!” „How
terrible”.
6. Offer advice: „I think you should...”, „If I were you, I would...”, „Why don’t
you...?”
7. Ask about the other person: „But enough about me. What’s happening in
your life”?
8. Thank your friend: „It was good to talk about it.” / „Thanks for listening”.
