TDD and FDD

TDD and FDD are two methods for duplexing in wireless communication. TDD uses a single frequency for transmission and reception with a guard period between, while FDD uses separate channels for transmission and reception. TDD can easily adjust capacity between uplink and downlink by changing time slots, and works for both small and large coverage distances with some added latency. FDD introduces no latency as channels are always open but requires duplexers and a paired spectrum.
