Eme 4433 - Control and System Engineering: Dr. Shamini Janasekaran

This document provides an overview of the EME 4433 - Control and System Engineering course taught by Dr. Shamini Janasekaran. The course covers topics such as system modeling, Kirchhoff's laws, open and closed loop control systems, feedback, frequency response, stability analysis, and compensation design. Upon completion, students should be able to model complex systems, introduce fundamental control engineering concepts, and design simple compensators to meet performance criteria. Assessment is based on exams, coursework, assignments, and tests.

OBJECTIVES
Upon successful completion of this module, students
should be able to:-

1. Develop models of ‘complex’ systems by using

system diagrams for the connection and manipulation
of simple sub-systems.
2. Introduce the fundamental concepts and
terminology of control engineering.
3. Design simple compensators to meet pre-defined
performance criteria.
