Text:

Abu Abdullah Muhammad Ibn Battuta, was a Moroccan Muslim scholar and traveller. He
is known for his travelling called the ‘Rihla’.His journeys lasted for a period of almost thirty
years.
Ibn Battuta was born in Tangier, Morocco, on February 24th,1304 C.E. His family was of
Berber origin. After receiving an education in Islamic law, he chose to travel : he left his house
on June 1325 on a hajj (pilgrimage) to Mecca, but he did not come back to Morocco for at least
30 years. His journey was mostly by land : to reduce the risk of being attacked, he usually chose
to join a caravan.
This man sailed down the Red Sea to Mecca. He crossed the huge Arabian Desert and travelled
to Iraq and Iran. In 1330, he travelled to Aden and later to Tanzania. In 1332,he decided to go
to India where he got the job of a judge for a period of 8 years and then left for China. In
1352 ,he went south, crossed the Sahara desert, and visited the African kingdom of Mali.
Finally, he returned home in 1355 when he was appointed a judge in Morocco and died
thirteen years later.

sometimes wonder what life will be like in the future.
Life has changed so much in the past few years. There are still big changes that are
coming.
Do you think we'll still drive cars? Maybe we'll get into computerized vehicles that
we won't have to drive. We'll just push few buttons, and the vehicles will take us to
wherever we have to go. Instead of old telephones, we'll just use our computers or smart
phones. We'll be able to see each other when we talk. That type of thing is already
happening. Maybe we won't have to cook our meals. We may push buttons of a machine
to order whatever we want to eat or drink. We may have a robot to clean our house too .
So can a machine be a man’s rival?
No,it can’t.We will still need people to program the computers. We can spend more
time being creative, rather than doing everyday activities.
The future holds many amazing surprises. I'm sure that technology stores many
things for us?

Mother: After a long period of study, you are finally in 4MS and you’ll pass your
Brevet exam in a few months to come. Now you know many things about your country
and the world around you. You will have to make important choices. Some students will
look for a job, others will keep on studying. You will have to decide what to do in the

Son: Well mum. You know I dislike being ordinary and passive. As I am ambitious, I

I often wonder about my future as I am about to finish my Secondary School. The
 
number one question on my mind is which profession should I choose? I want a profession
that  will satisfy me, challenge me and bring me joy. I believe that a job should be like a
hobby. I want to love my work.
 
First of all, As soon as I finish Secondary School, I will take the first important exam
of my  life. I will be tested in four different subjects: the English and German languages,
Biology and Chemistry. When I pass my exam, I will study Pharmacy or Medicine at the
University
  to become a pharmacist or a doctor.
Also,  before I have a family, I will travel overseas. I want to see countries like Japan,
Finland and South Africa. After I finish my education and travels, I will get married.
I would like to live with my future family in a quiet, natural countryside setting.

Second English Test

Good morning, boys and girls. Next Wednesday, we will begin our excursion with a
visit to Algiers, the capital of Algeria. The departure point will be our school, just at
the front door. If every pupil is punctual , we will leave at 7 o'clock. We'll postpone the
departure for another 15 minutes if there are late comers.
The weather forecast announces that Wednesday will be a rainy day. Don't worry, we
have made contingency plan just in case it rains while we are on excursion. Thus, if it
rains in the morning, we won't go to the zoo, we'll have a visit to the Martyr's Monument
in El-Madania instead. That will keep us from getting wet and it will help a lot in revising
our history lessons.
Normaly, we'll have lunch at 12:30 by a riverside in Boushaoui. But if the weather gets
bad, we’ll get back into the coach and have our sandwiches inside......
