Paper-Less MES TechnicalOverview

This document discusses a manufacturing execution system (MES) software that provides simplified deployment, high scalability, and 24/7 availability. It was developed using .NET, SQL databases, and C# coding. The MES architecture embeds the latest development methods for reliability and connectivity. It is role-based and considers end user workflows. The MES solves integration challenges by utilizing a single database with ERP data and exchanging information continuously between systems.

MES Architecture
From a technical standpoint, MES is a highly state of the art system. Built from the
ground up as a .NET application, MES embodies the latest methods for product
development which is critical for system reliability considerations as well as connectivity
and integration with external systems like ERP or even smartphones and thin client
devices available today. MES is role based and end user workflows were strongly
considered in the design of the product. Being web browser based MES greatly
simplifies the deployment and ongoing maintenance of the product since it resides
only on a central server.

One of the biggest challenges to overcome when implementing systems is integration.
While individual products and best of breed software may yield deep function in any inventory accuracy

Two Primary Integration Points to consider are ….. integration with ERP,
1. With other production software products
2. With the ERP software and the employees
MES solves both of these but in different ways. MES offers a total solution for the plant
