“Chewrelief”

Introduction to the Product

Due to hectic and a busy day of work, studies or due to heavy drinking people suffer with slight
headaches which spoils their day so here I’ve come up with a chewing gum that eliminates slight
headache’s. For example: After work, After exam, After a long journey, After a party etc. Also
helps in refreshing your mind.

Market segments and target customers: - My main focus would be on Students and
employees. A brief profile of the target market:

• Age between 15 – 35.

• People with busy work life.

• School and colleges students

Pricing: - As per other good quality chewing gum’s in the market.

Competitors: - No such identical products in the market but competition could come from other
chewing gum manufacturers who produce high quality medicated chewing gums such as
Wrigley’s, Perfetti etc.

Unique selling proposition: - Its uniqueness is that it is a medicated chewing gum and would
eliminate slight headache. There are few medicated chewing gums in the market but none are
into relieving slight headaches.

Research objective –

To find out if there is any demand for such medicated chewing gum which eliminates slight
headaches.

Research design –

My research design will include all three elements. That is causal, exploratory and Descriptive.
Causal because I need to see what other factors and variable may impact the sales or perception
of the chewing gum. Exploratory because I also need to clarify my concept and gain proper
insight of the potential customers and finally it need to include descriptive element also so that I
can know, who are my customer and what do they exactly want from the product, where
will/may they buy such product, when will they buy and when should the company reach them
and finally how will it derive more and more value to them and how would they perceive it.
Research Method

Unstructured interviews for the exploratory study, structured questionnaire for descriptive
research and causal study.

Identify/plan data type and sources:

In this research I don’t see much necessity of secondary data sources because chewing gum are
very affordable and easily available items and before buying a gum no one thinks twice. It is not
at most of the times depended on any independent items or factors.

I’d use mostly the primary data sources and collect information’s and data through
Questionnaires and observation of the sale trends and the buying habit of the potential customers.

Design data collection forms/questionnaires.

The next thing would be to design questionnaires in a proper manner as to extract enough and
vital information regarding the product perception and potential customer.

Determine sample size

Here sample size is determined as to how many and what segment people to include in the
sample of people that would be answering the questions in the questionnaire and that would be
observed. A questionnaire survey with a sample size of 80 respondents would be
enough for the descriptive and causal research. People employed at various
organisations where people need to work hard and for long hours would be asked to
fill the questionnaire and students would also be asked to fill it. For the party
animals some magazines or news paper (example: Himalayan times “TGIF”, wave
etc) would be selected and a questionnaire would be placed there so that people
can fill it and mail it back.

Data analysis

Tabulation, Cross tabulation, T-test, ANOVA, Regression analysis and other similar tools will be
used to understand more about the potential customers and their perception and the feasibility of
the product.

Prepare report

All the data and information’s collected will be properly placed in a report format and presented.
