PMP Application Description Examples  

 
Example #1: 
 
Worked with manager to define and record requirements for the pipeline mapping project, taking 
into account the needs of key stakeholders such as HCNA and Allied Aviation. Responsible for 
the creation of AutoCAD maps, and executed the tasks defined by manager and the project plan 
in order to achieve project goals. Actively monitored any changes to project needs or 
requirements. Upon completion of the pipeline map, created and distributed final report to 
manager. 
 
Example #2: 
 
Worked with manager and mentor to identify needs of key project stakeholders, namely Hosting 
management and other departmental teams. Played the role of lead developer for project and 
executed tasks defined by manager to achieve the goals set for the Server DNA project. 
Monitored the status of project throughout lifecycle, and altered scope of project when 
necessary. When my work on the project was complete, I consolidated documentation that I had 
created throughout the project and distributed a final report to respective stakeholders. 
 
Example #3: 
 
This project is developing a materiel solution for a Minuteman III ICBM follow­on in support of 
strategic deterrence & global strike capability. My team & I engaged stakeholders, collected 
project requirements, conducted AoA, refined employment concepts, developed a technology 
development strategy and risk reduction plan. The team also developed initial scope statement 
& WBS to support affordability study and create 30 yr spend plan. Finally, the team conducted 
market assessments & developed RFPs to seek materiel solution concept refinement. 
 
Example #4: 
 
Program ensures responsive design & development capacity/infrastructure to address emerging 
issues & technology insertion w/current ICBM. We maintained stakeholder engagement to 
collect requirements, initiate projects, plan project scope, and build overall technology road 
map. I managed & controlled communication w/remote execution cell and strategic 
stakeholders. I also monitored & controlled project cost, schedule & risk, and reported variances 
to strategic stakeholders. I ensured lessons learned were captured and archived for future use. 
 
 
 
 
 
Example #5: 
 
Managed and executed testing activities for IHD waiver project. This project is to waive 
Participating hospitals all or a portion of the Part A In­Hospital Deductible (IHD) on certain AARP 
health care plans. Initiated testing by providing estimates and reviewing the requirements. 
Created project schedule for testing activities with tasks and resources. Created test plan, test 
cases and conducted walkthroughs. Executed the tasks, created risks and issues log and 
provided the status. Managed QA portion of the project and closed with feed back.
