INTRODUCTION
International Convention Centre
“An International Convention Centre caters to delegates representing top expertise in their respective
fields and is specially designed aiming to provide a conductive environment for holding conferences ,
workshops , lectures , panel discussions etc.”

An International Convention Centre would have substantial facilities to cater the corporate tourism
growth in the region and a wide array of revenues to the private & public sector. It is also an informative
center with large span exhibition spaces.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

 Hosting conventions/seminars/expos of national and international scale


 To make it a landmark International Convention & Exhibition Centre, for the region, by
understanding the urban character of the project location during site analysis.
 To give a design solution, avoiding the problems faced by existing similar projects observed
during case studies.
 Creating a commercially successful centre, thereby improving the regions ability to attract
revenue generating conventions by understanding the site potentials during site analysis.
 Complementing & enhancing the existing convention facilities in the region, by understanding
the existing conditions of these facilities.
 Creating an integrated convention facility accommodating needs for a variety of user groups,
during design stage.

SCOPE OF WORK
 The actual proposal by the client involves, planning & designing of the ICEC, Hotels &
Commercial Complex.
 The entire project focuses on The International Convention & Exhibition Centre, the other
buildings being its supporting elements.
 Therefore considering the above two facts & as per time limitations of the Thesis Schedule,
this project would involve Layout planning of the ICEC, Hotels & Commercial Complex at Site
Level, along with detailed designing of the ICEC only.

 Epicentre, Gurgaon
 Indian Habitat centre, Delhi
 Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi.
SITE:-
The Project Site for the proposed International Convention & Exhibition Centre(ICEC) is located at
Sector24, western edge of the Dwarka Sub-City, New Delhi.

Dwarka sub-city is a current under development project of the Delhi Development Authority (D.D.A).
Therefore Sector24 is an Under Development sector, within which 14 hectares of land has been
allotted for the ICEC Project, the Client or the promoter of the Project being D.D.A itself.
