Assignment #02

Due Date: Thursday, Feb 11, 2016

The assignment must be submitted by due date during lecture timings in class. Submissions after class timings will lead to
zero marks. Do not copy or you will get negative marking for your assignment.

Plot the output waveform for the following clipper and clamper circuits using circuit analysis techniques
taught to you during lectures.

Q1. Assume a Silicon diode in the following clipper circuit and plot the output voltage vo.

Q2. Assume a Silicon diode in the following clipper circuit and plot the output voltage vo
Q3. Assume an ideal diode and plot the output voltage vo across the parallel combination of the diodes.

Q4. Assume a Silicon diode in the following network and plot the output voltage vo

Q5.Find and plot the output voltage in the following clamper network.
Q6. Plot the output waveform from the following clamper network. Assume an ideal diode.

Q7. Design the following network to maintain VL at 10 V for a load variation (IL) from 0 to 150 mA. Find
the necessary values of Rs, VZ and PZmax for the Zener diode.

Q8. For the following network, determine the range of Vi that will maintain VL at 12 V and not exceed the
maximum power rating of the Zener diode.
Q.9 Find and plot the output voltage for the following full wave bridge rectifier using circuit analysis
techniques. Assume ideal diodes.
