6. To reinforce the usage of ICT in classroom learning.
TIME One month
DESCRIPTION This project-based learning activity involves both upper and lower
secondary school students. Students are to complete the assigned project
creatively and innovatively. This activity is based on fun learning and
underpinned by 21st century learning skills. Students will work
independently using ICT skills to complete the project. In order to
complete the project, students are required to do a lot of reading and to
conduct discussions.
STUDENTS Students will be able to:

ii. use creativity and innovation in developing their project.
iii. present their projects orally.
iv. produce a scrapbook.
STEPS OF 1. The English teacher selects a theme for each level/standard.

STEPS OF 1. Teachers from both schools meet to discuss and plan the project.
IMPLEMENTATION 2. List of students’ names and information are exchanged and each student
is assigned to a pen pal.
3. It is crucial that the teacher in-charge monitors the exchanges to avoid
controversial issues.
4. Students write to their friends /pen-pal by exchanging stories, opinions
and views on the English activities conducted in their respective schools.
5. Students are not allowed to share their private information, phone
number, email, and social media account. All letters will be closely
monitored by teachers.
6. Students are encouraged to share their experiences on their interactions
with their pen pals during English lessons.
7. Students are to compile their letters in their portfolios.
