These pictures illustrate how a tea is produced, and how a cup of tea is made.

There are 16 stages

in the diagram, from sowing the tea seeds in India and China, to enjoy a cup of tea at home.

The first step is that the tea seeds are sown, and then the sun shines, which causes the seeds to
grow into plants. Once the plants have grown sufficiently, the leaves are then picked by the farmer
and put into baskets. After the picking stage. The tea leaves are spread out in the sun to be dried.
The tea leaves are packed into boxes and then they are loaded onto lorries, which take the boxes of
tea to supermarkets.

In order to make a cup of tea, first of all you buy a box of tea and take it home. Next, you fill the
kettle with water and put it on the stove to boil. Meanwhile, you put a tea bag in a cup for two
minutes, the tea bag is then removed, and the tea is now ready to drink. At this point, milk and sugar
can be added. The final step is that you drink a nice cup of hot tea at home.
The given pictures demonstrate the way of making tomato ketchup step by step. Overall, there are
15 steps to be done to produce a bottle of ketchup.

First of all, the farmer picks up tomatoes from the farm and put them in baskets. Then, he selects
only good tomatoes from the ones he picked. After being sent to the factory, the tomatoes will have
removal process in order to get rid of stalks, seeds, skins, etc. Having been collected into containers,
the processed tomatoes are crushed and turned into liquid. Nest, with adding sugar, salt and
vinegar, they are ready to boil.

After being left for two hours to be set, the tomatoes liquid is poured into tomato ketchup bottles
and labeled as polished products. At just before the final stage, only the selected bottles are packed
and delivered to supermarkets. Finally, the customers enjoy the tomatoes ketchup with their food.

In conclusion, the process of making a bottle of tomato ketchup is described with 15 initial stages.
In general, it appears that Castellon has become a much more modern city, with far more shopping
and transport facilities.

One interesting change is that a new tram line has been built, to connect the university with the
town center. In 2000, there was not any accommodation for students, but a hall of residence has
been built near the university. Another striking change is that the old market in the west of the city
has been knocked down to make way for news shops. A completely new covered marked has also
been built on the other side of town.

If we look at the port area, it has been pedestrianized since 2000, and a range of entertainment
facilities have been built, such as cinemas, bars and clubs. The north. East of the city used to be a
green area, with lots of trees, but the trees have been cut down, and a new shopping complex has
been constructed. A final interesting development has been the introduction of a bike-rental
scheme in the city Centre.
The two maps show what happened in the town of kimsville in the last nine years: from 2002 until
nowadays.

Overall, it can be seen that in 2002, Kimsville was a green area, a residential city with lots of trees,
but today it has become much more industrial, with more apartment and software company.

First of all, two years which have been big improvements are the north-west and south-west of the
city. These areas used to be full of trees, but the trees were chopped down, and new apartments
and a football stadium have been built. Also, a new train station has been constructed between
them.

Another change is the expansion of the shopping Centre which is in the north of the city Centre, In
addition, in 2002. There was an old cinema in the south of the city. In recent years, it has become a
pub. Also, the factory near city Centre has been knocked down and replaced by a software company.
The Diagram show the main changes which happened in the city of Shipsmouth between 1995 and
2010.

In general, it is clear that in 1995, the city was quite green and peaceful, but by 2010, it had become
much more modern and busy, with new shopping and transport facilities.

One interesting change is that the trees in the north-west of the city were cut down to make way
for new apartment blocks. Similarly, the woodland in the south-east of the city was cleared, and an
airport was constructed in its place. Another striking development is that a new station was built to
the north of the city Centre, and the railway line was extended to the north as well.

If we look at the city Centre, by 2010, the main road running through it had been pedestrianized. It
also interesting to note that in the west of the city there used to be several factories, but these were
demolished, and replaced by a new shopping Centre. Further developments were the building of
new skyscrapers in the east of the city, and the construction of a football stadium in the south.
The diagram illustrates the lifecycle of a honey bee, and also the process by which honey is
produced. There are several stages in the processes, from the queen bee laying her eggs, to the
distribution and selling of honey.

In the first stage of the cycle, bee eggs are laid in honeycomb by the queen bee, and three days later
a larva appears. A week later, the larva has become fully grown bee, and after spending three weeks
in the hive, the bee leaves. The next step is that the bee gathers nectar form flowers, which is the
starting point of making honey. Finally, the bee takes the nectar back to the hive, and deposits it in
the honeycomb.

At this point, the honey production process can begin. The honeycomb is removed by the
beekeeper. Who then puts it into an extracting machine. Having been extracted, the honey is then
boiled, in order to make it clean. When the honey has been cleaned, it is put into jars, and then the
final stages are that the jars of honey are distributed and sold.
The diagram illustrates the various stages in the life of a honey bee. We can see that complete life
cycle last between 34 and 36 days. It is also noticeable that there are five main stages in the
development of the honey bee, from egg to mature adult insect.

The life cycle of the honey bee begins when the female adult lays an egg; the female typically lays
one or two eggs every 3 days. Between 9 and 10 days later, each egg hatches and the immature
insect, or nymph, appears.

During the third stage of the life cycle, the nymph grows in size and sheds its skin. This moulting first
takes place 5 days after the egg hatches, then 7 days later, and again another 9 days later. After a
total of 30 to 31 days from the start of the cycle, the young adult honey bee emerges from its final
moulting stage, and in the space of only 4 days it reaches full maturity.
The three stages in the life cycle of a salmon are shown in the diagram.

The first stage of the process begins with the adult salmon laying its eggs in the reeds among the
small stones. These reeds are located in the upper river which is slow moving. It takes around 5 to
6 months for the eggs to hatch.

The young fry measure between 3 to 8 cm and swim to the lower river which is fast flowing. They
inhabit this area for approximately 4 years in which their sizes increase to between 12 and 15 cm.

The smolt then swims to the open sea and remains there for around 5 years. In this environment it
reaches its full adult size of 70-76 cm. It is now referred to as salmon in this stage of development
and makes its journey back to the upper river in order to lay eggs once again.

We can see that salmon live in three different areas during their life time increasing in size in each
habitat. The whole process from egg to adult takes around nine and a half years.
The maps below show the changes that have taken place at the seaside town of Brinslow between
1990 and 2005.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons
where relevant.

The diagrams depict how the coastal town of Brinslow has developed from 1990 to 2005.

In summary, Brinslow has seen an expansion in its town planning from a small residential community
to a flourishing commercial district.

Comparing 1990 with 2005, all road and rail networks have remained with an additional railway line
constructed along the coast in the south. Furthermore, a new ferry port for cars has been placed
south of the railway station as well as an airport in the north. Around this area, the school, hospital,
parking space have not changed, only a few additional houses have been built. Below this part,
previously it was mostly covered in trees and few housing to become an industrial area with a
factory.

Looking at the north west side, mostly housing existed around a lake during 1990. This later
converted into mostly apartments with multiple smaller houses erected along the road in the south.
Further south, where it was formally sparsely populated with more housing, a supermarket with an
extra road and a row of apartments had taken its place.
The two maps below show an island, before and after the construction of some tourist facilities.

NOTE: They have given you a ruler of 100 metres in the diagram. This means you MUST use it in your
answer. Each bar measures 100 metres, not the whole bar.

The diagrams compare an island prior and after numerous tourist developments.
Overall, significant changes have been made to the uninhabited island with new tourist facilities
being built, whilst still preserving its original natural features. The main additions to the island are
access routes and accommodation facilities.

To begin with, a reception building has been constructed in the central part of the island with a
circular vehicle track. The vehicle track extends 100m north to connect to a new restaurant.
Approximately 100m south of the reception, the vehicle access continues a further 100m onto a pier
where boats are available.

Looking at the west side of the island, six accommodation huts with a ring footpath surround the
existing palm trees. The footpath is connected to the vehicle track, west of the reception building.
Further west of the map lies a beach area with a designated swimming area for tourists within 200m
of the huts via a footpath.

The remaining east side of the island hosts ten more huts, less than 100m east of the reception
building. The accommodation is similarly arranged around a circular footpath next to the island’s
existing palm trees just to the far east side.
