Procedure: Sitting in an open circle together we will begin to read the book Cluck O Clock by
Kes Gray. Before reading some questions may be asked such as What animal do we see in the
cover? What shape is the clock that is in the cover? What do you predict whats going to happen
in the story? Begin reading the book to the class willing to stop from time to time to show
illustration. Once the story is over, ask students to give feedback how they felt about the book,
including what was their favorite part, etc. Depending on the remaining time students can begin
working on the Telling the Time worksheet. Explain that the nine different analog clocks
contain different times. The first clock would be done as a group for everyone can have a clear
understanding

Evaluation: Students will complete at least half or more than half then the worksheet, writing
the accurate time that this shown on the analog clock, if students had trouble, allow them to try
again the following day but with a partner.
